Fantastic Bjorn! As a Gilmore tone chaser, your page has really helped me find the “on a budget” gear I need to get my tone. I love the Reeves amp! I was lucky to find a Sound City 200R a few years ago as well and an Alembic F2b, that way I can actually be in the same room as the SC. I’ve wanted a lower watt amp for a while now that I have children. My Fender Blues Deluxe does a pretty good job, but, I’ve been thinking of maybe building a 50W Hiwatt clone amp. Your clip sounds fantastic and is spot on. If I happened to randomly hear this clip, I would have thought it was a new DG solo release. Great work my friend. Thank you for all the work you’ve done to help folks like me strive to sound like DG.

Great Bjorn beautiful the song and then Durga is a leggenda! To get closer to the sound of the division bell, as you did in this beautiful work, I noticed that part of the magic lies in the reverb... Apart from the microphonation in the room, it was said that gilmour used alesis quadraverb. Now in your opinion what would be the type of reverb best suited to the atmospheres of the division bell album: room, hall, plate etc ...
@BjornRiisMusic2 жыл бұрын
There's no reverb in the actual setup but there's a lot in the mix. I'm not sure what tyope of reverb David used but I often use plate, which I think goes well with guitar.

Hi Bjorn, as usual you did a fantastic job, congratulations. Can I ask you a question ? Have you added the R200 after the Amp/Cab ? I mean before delay and Reverb, or after all effects ?
@BjornRiisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The R200 is a plugin. It's added in a bus on the track, along with the reverb and delays and these are mixed in, with different levels, with the recorded track.

Very lovey playing. Question; I own the Triangle Muff; what’d you think is the difference between that, and the Ram’s Head Muff?

Simply glorious Bjorn. I hope one day DG invites you to play with him….. 💕🎸 PS I have a Rat but fancy a muff too. Green or Rams head. Which would sit best with or replace the rat? Fallen in love with my Camoflange, almost there with the 90’s tones I seek. 👍🏼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

That plug in is epic. Have you found anything close in a pedal?
@BjornRiisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Dawner Prince Pulse or the old Boss RT20. Other rotary sims are closer to a Leslie, which has much more of that woody tremolo sound.
@crissmith29112 жыл бұрын
@@BjornRiisMusic Thanks for the response, Bjorn. The plug-in seems to have the effect of also smoothing out the fuzz just a bit, without losing the character or sustain of the Muff. Almost like a Muf with one F. I've tried to do this by stacking it into a low gain drive, and I've found that it works with some pedals, but I think this does an even better job. I may have to re-visit the Dawner Prince Pulse. Would love to see this song added to your backing tracks library. Fabulous work, and thanks again for all your work on Gilmourish.
@crissmith29112 жыл бұрын
I wanted to add one other comment. You and the rest of your fans and followers often focus on the nuances of tones, and I'm as guilty as anybody. But I wanted to compliment you on your song. Rather than come up with glowing adjectives to describe your solo, I'll just say that it's memorable, stuck in my head, I want to play it myself, and I wish it was longer. Those marks are about as high as you can ask for.
@BjornRiisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Thank you so much. This song and EP is very much the result of my almost 20 years of research on David Gilmour's tone and playing. My site and videos are going deep into all the details but translating all that information into actual playing is something different. David Gilmour is David Gilmour. I have my influences and experiences that will colour my playing. As it should.
