I would honestly keep it and use it for a tow rig since it has nearly 500K on it. Those 6.0's and 4L80E's are usually pretty bulletproof if you maintain them.

@@lupulflamand5673 It wasn't. However, MWM saved it just in time. It has good bones. Its worth a mechanical restore. He doing right with it. Just about all the GMT800 Escalades are clapped out. If you find one in decent shape with a good price, I'd say grab it.

Great job on the seats Mike! I’d love to see you redo the headliner. You might as well keep this thing now and see how long it will last. It looks good and will tow, besides, nobody will give you anything for it.

I just did this same procedure on my brother's 2003 Chevy Avalanche. He bought the same covers from Amazon, he got them the next day as well. For the money, I'd say a win is a win. The upholstery shop wanted to charge him $550 to fix only the driver seat.

I think I remembered on your walk around video the other day you said that you’re going to sell it,I hope that it goes to a grate home! Let’s hope that someone will buy the car and won’t be afraid of the mileage with as high as it is! 400,000 miles does not scare me.

Looks great Mike! I think you should keep it and see how many miles you can get out of it. If you want to really clean the seatbelts, put 2 cups of Oxiclean in a 5 gallon bucket of HOT water. Pull out the seatbelt and secure the top of the sealtbelt with a clip to prevent it from rewinding. Dunk the seatbelt in the bucket and let it soak for an hour. After an hohr, pull the seatbelt out of the water and dry it with a microfiber towel. Let it hang outside the car in the sun to dry and once it's dry, you'll be amazed at how clean it is. Repeat for the other seatbelts.

Keep it and use it as originally intended, as a tow rig. Replace the rear shocks and keep sailing ⛵ 6.0 with 4L80e is a bulletproof combination, and you already know that the engine is running great and the trans is fine. And then personalize it/build it as your preference.

I have only replaced the seat cushion in my 04 Escalade ESV. Fairly straightforward. Never attempted the back seat cover. Fortunately the leather hasn't worn through yet, and since I'm about to get rid of it, not going to bother doing anything else with my Escalade. It's the foam compression that kills the seat covers. The seat shop makes some amazing foam for the driver's seat in the GMT800s. You end up sitting 2" higher.

Surprisingly Chinese "leather" lately is actually pretty hard wearing, especially at the price you paid. I have some pleather seat covers in my van for 3 years now and about 30k, still look like new with a very tiny bit of creasing where i get in an out. On the contrary though, i had a pleather office chair about 20 years ago that was basically a fabric with the "leather" painted on, it didn't last long before little bits started falling off and i had to sit on a towel haha!

A neighbor's newer Mercedes E-class was stolen and recovered. The exterior looked okay but the interior was vandalized, or destroyed. I found a Mercedes E-Class like his at the pullers. The car had a perfect interior which I bought and installed in his car. It was hard work on my part, but we got lucky! (Off subject, but relevant to the channel) While at the parts yard, the pullers had many beautiful, intact Range Rovers with flawless bodies and interiors. It seems like a huge waste that nothing can be done to fix them without incurring huge debts.
