Instead of Gorilla tape, use Eternabond (comes in colors including tan). It lasts over 10 years and is used in the RV industry to seal leaks on roofs and sidewalls. I repaired the cracked corners on my Craftsman (Suncast) shed using tan Eternabond. I applied it to all four corners floor to ceiling and it has been holding great for the past 5 years.

Eternabond is another great option - I've used it on my RV roof as well. It's not as readily available as Gorilla Tape and I've had issues with it being used on vertical surfaces - it tends to droop and sag in the sun - which all adhesive tapes will do to some degree.

Thanks for the video! I happen to have acquired this exact same shed and was planning to do the same as what you did. One of my neighbors was moving out of state and offered the shed to me for free. It had just been sitting on his property for 3 years. I poured a level pad and then just put it all together last weekend--and surprisingly it is still in great condition except at the two rear joints / material bends.

I just had a large 8" diameter tree limb hit the gable roof edge of my older Rubbermaid shed. Amazingly it didn't take the entire shed down (or me 😬). It only cracked the roof edge and slightly buckled the wall gable above the doors. I was bummed but also impressed at the same time. Didn't want to create another project but it could have come down on my bedroom if I put it off much longer. (storm damaged and rotting tree)

Can you do a short video on how you tied it down? I just got this same shed and I’m afraid it’ll blow away.
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
We've since moved from that house but I got some ground anchors on either side, then ran cables up the outside wall, under the roof sheets but above the metal roof supports, then down the opposite side - hope thats helpful.

Nice video! How did you attach the 2x4s? Bolted thru wall? Thanks
@GanderFlight7 ай бұрын
They're 1/2s bolted to little j hooks and then hung down into the little slots on the wall

I want to know more about the 1x4 anchor to the shed wall
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
The 1/4 is anchored to metal hooks and the hooks are hung in the holes provided by the manufacturer.

Really helpful video. Question: I have a Suncast HDPE shed and am reading that neither Gorilla Tape nor Flex Seal tape will work with HDPE. Is your shed HDPE? If not, do you have any info on the HDPE question?
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
This is the first I'm hearing anything like that. I'm sorry we've since moved an left this shed with the house so I don't recall the exact material it was made from - but I briefly looked at the gorilla tape webpage and didn't see anything about not using it on HDPE. Wish I had more clarification for you.

Do you have a link to a video for dissembling this shed?
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
I do not. Fairly simple thought - just a few screws and then the plastic shims that lock into the panels.

How could you get the roof pitch? Did you disassemble the roof to tape it?
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
Nope... just climbed bu there with a ladder, cleaned it off and laid down the tape.

Hi, I’ve just find out a small leak from my Keter shed roof! Do you think a gorilla tape will fix it from out side?? A very small leak!!
@GanderFlight2 ай бұрын
It worked well for my applications - I look at it this way, if it doesn't work, how easy is it to try the next solution - pretty easy I'd think. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you

Nice ideas! Does clear silicone stick to the shed? That might help with waterproofing the seal at the top of your roof seal and any small holes. Perhaps construction adhesive for the wood reinforcements?
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
Not sure on the silicone - my guess would be not very well. And the only wood in the whole thing is the base under the plastic floor :)

My gorilla tape lasted one season until it started peeling off. I think part of the issue was that the surface of the shed is textured leaving air gaps in between tape and surface.
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing that experience - super helpful to have multiple data points. What part of the country are you in?
@doncontant790 Жыл бұрын
Gorilla tape is strong initially; but does not last long at all. In just a few months it becomes completely non-sticky.

I had that tape in the roof for over 2 years in the Texas sun before this was filmed, so my experience has definitely shown differently.

Flex Seal Tape did NOT survive this summer in the desert southwest of New Mexico. I will be reinforcing the shed with lumber and taping it with Gorilla Path from the inside this time.

Find me a shed that does not have crack on the corner. Bad design.
@GanderFlight Жыл бұрын
Yeah having the folds at the corners and the top of the roof piece definitely are a weak point in the design.
