HEY GALAXY GANG! Today I’m doing a video on how I saved my cuticles (and my skin and nails) this winter. Because this winter has been COLD and DRY and my skin and cuticles were looking ROUGH lol. I know you guys have been begging for a cuticle care routine but my routine right now is just using these products so I figured I’d share my favorites. These are just products I buy to help out my skin and nails :) Comment which products you use too!
Also idk why but I kept messing up words during this video. It was filmed at night and I was tired I guess lol. Sorry!

I have the lush one, it’s lasted me about 2years now, but I’ve got contact dermatitis on my hands & while lush does help my cutes it does make my hands itch like mad, recently i have thought that it’s the perfume that’s added to it, as highly, but nice, smelly hand creams do the same, only the Vaseline lotions doesn’t make me itch. Does the burts bees have a lot of perfume in it as I’d try it, but where I am it’s really pricy!

The reason the Sally Hansen cuticle oil helps your nails grow is basically because your cuticles are clinging to your nails (not excessively, but enough to hold them back) so when you put a cuticle oil (if it’s a good one) it will loosen your cuticles and help your nail grow Hope that was helpful!😂💕

I second the lemon flutter!! Nothing has compared. Its amazing and lasts forever. The lemon has so many brightening benefits. That's just an added bonus though. It has super healing ingredients. I can nick my cuticle and apply it a few times every hour or so and it will literally heal overnight. Oh and another amazing hand product that is my new holy grail, Biossance came out with a ceramside hand lotion. it is amazing!! I tried opi nail envy and orly nailtrician after I made a mistake and buffed my nail bed and my nails were so soft they would bend all the way back lol. The nail envy did not do anything to harden them but I returned so don't know if it would of made nails grow faster. The orly nailtrician did work to harden my nails and even wo it on now after using it a few weeks, my nails are back to being stronger! Plus side, it has a slight sheer pink that brightens nails! idk I've heard that opi changed the formula of nail envy and it used to be really good. Maybe because so many people complained that it would only last a month or so and then get too thick.

I can nick my cuticle and apply it a few times every hour or so and it will literally heal overnight. My only issue and its no fault of the product but since it lasts so long and no matter how careful I am with it, opening it over its lifespan, sure enough my dogs hair will fall in it when I'm using it. I think my next jar, I'm gonna put a little bit in a smaller container and just use it out of that and refill it as needed. it's so thick and luscious that you can't really use any other kind of container. Small price for how wonderful it is!!

I'm one of those people that OPI Nail Envy doesn't work for. It was an expensive investment but not compared with the overall investment I have made in products since I was old enough to have a job and invest. I have problem nails (peeling, splitting thin etc.) I've tried Nailtiques, Nail Envy, Nail Magic, Nail Tek, Hard as Hoof, T.I.P.S., every strengthening product Sally Hansen has made since 1998! I've even done garlic infused homemade nail oil and garlic in my base coat. I was about to try a $30 treatment when I discovered my holy grail. CND RescueRxx keratin treatment. It's basically just like CND Solar Oil but with keratin. The instructions say use twice a day but I use it in conjunction with the solar oil. No peeling in 5 months. I just switch products every time I oil (which is probably 10x a day bc my nails grow fast). I actually for length past my fingertips!!! I have never wanted super long nails, I just wanted to do fabulous galaxy nail art!!!! The one drawback is it's hard to find in the store. I found mine at one CVS in my area. But I signed up for their rewards card and every fee weeks they email me a 40% off coupon. Sorry for the novel but CND should sponsor me. I'm a freaking ambassador for their product!!!

@@paulaalford5974 CND RescueRxx Daily Karatin Treatment. CND stands for Creative Nail Design. The bottle is the size of a regular nail polish bottle and its white with a white cap. It's hard for me to find in my area. It runs about $11 in the store. But I have seen it online alot, including on Ebay. Its has definitely improved my nails 75%. Genetically I have bad nails so I dont think there is a "cure". I have also incorporated 100% pure lanolin into my nail care. Lanolin is a byproduct of wool and it makes it waterproof. It's super thick, yellow and waxy and a teeny tiny bit goes a long way. That has also helped alot. It's in many (expensive) cuticle creams but u can get it really cheap on Etsy. I think theres a shop called bulknaturals where I get mine 1 oz at a time. The downside is that it comes in a heat sealed pouch that is not closable so u have to transfer it to your own container. Hope this helped.

@@paulaalford5974 maybe you need some eight hour cream? Nothing worked for me in winter on cuticles, hands and lips. This cream is best and I always got a travel jar in by bag. Found it from recommendation and had to get used to the smell as it is like tea tree oil. It is pricey, too. There is a reason though why Elizabeth Arden sells this stinky, expensive cream like every five minutes though. It is just miracle cream.

Every time I do my nails I do all three (about 1-2x a week) and my hands have become sooooo soft and I suffer from very dry and cracked hands, my job has harsh chemicals and this stuff changed the game. I also use Vitamin E/Jojoba/Almond oil mix, the burt's bees hand salve and then Palmers cocoa butter throughout the week but once I added the satin hands it changed everything I love it. Hi Kelli, I wanted to share that I started using Chirality's Factory Reset nail strengthener this summer and it has totally changed my nails! I've tried everything from Sally Hansen, Nail Tek, Perfect Formula and a few others but none have worked as well as this stuff from Chirality, and it's only around $9 a bottle (it's scented too!). My nails were splitting and peeliing before and now I have to keep trimming them because they're growing too long! I haven't had that problem in a long time! I agree with you that lotion and cuticle oil are important to keeping your hands and nails in good shape, I keep both by my bed too! Put them on before bedtime and then some gloves and let the good stuff work all night! 😉

I use scented cuticle oils that I get from various indie brands. For hand lotion, my favorite is WiTS from Heather's Hues, another indie brand. I also use acetone additives so that clean up and removal isn't as harsh, and they make the acetone smell a lot better.

I've been using OPI Nail Envy for a couple of years now. It was the first strengthener I've ever used and have been persuaded on quite a few occasions to try others but always come back to it. I had extremely thin nails ever since I was a teenager but Nail Envy transformed my nails and as you say, it makes your nails grow really quickly. The other thing I've noticed when trying other nail strengtheners is that they make my fingers ache when I apply it but with Nail Envy I don't get any pain. It really is the best nail strengthener and I would know as I have about 6 others that are nowhere near as good ☺️♥️

I use Sally Hansen Color Therapy Argan Nail & Cuticle Oil and it works great for my horrible cuticles. I spent the money to get a nail strengthener for my thin nails. I got OPI Nail Envy Soft & Thin. I could actually fold my nails on my middle and ring fingers because they were practically paper thin. With 2 coats, I cannot fold them like I use to. I noticed my nails are growing quicker as well. I like them cut to working length because I end up breaking them. I will have to see what they are like in a week when the pretreatment parts of the nails have grown out and cut back to the treated nails to see if the OPI improves the my nails.

Aveda Hand Relief is my go to hand cream. I have dry skin and someone gifted me some of the Aveda and I’ve been addicted ever since. It’s pricey, but a pea sized amount is usually good. I keep a couple tubes around the house…it’s a lifesaver in winter! I also use the Sally Hansen cuticle oil and even better, the Burt’s Bees lemon cuticle butter. I hate the greasiness of the oil, so use the Burt’s more…I can put a lot on my nails when working and let it slowly soak in while I’m working without getting oil spots all over everything!

I like to use a sugar scrub on my hands. It’s easy to make your own. 1 cup table sugar, 1/4 cup olive oil or coconut oil, and 10-12 drops of your favorite essential oil. The olive oil turns it into that yellowish green color but is less expensive and probably already in your cupboard. The coconut oil stays a pretty white, but the smell is stronger. There are a lot of recipes on Pinterest.

I actually make my own cuticle oil with jojoba, sunflower, and vitamin E oils. Sometimes I add pumpkin seed oil as well, but when you buy it on Amazon or Sally's you get a lot and you know how little oil you need, so I haven't needed to buy more of any of that in almost a year, and I know it'll easily last me through the summer, and probably longer. I do equal parts jojoba and sunflower and maybe half of that of vitamin E. It's awesome. Going to try that bum bum cream though. I got an Ahava moisture mask treatment in a Fab Fit For box that I actually just use as lotion. Lol.

I love lemony flutter. I've had my hands get so dry in the winter that they cracked and bled and lemony flutter was the only thing I could stand on my hands because most lotions stung but lemony flutter was like moisturizing spackle for the cracks. Most of Lush's stuff last past their best before date, which is great. Eventually lemony flutter will get gross and sticky but that's well past its best before date. I misplaced an almost empty jar till I think a good 6 months (or more) after its best before date and it was sticky and gross at that point and I just chucked the little bit that remained. But it lasts a surprisingly long time past the best before date. Simply Nailogical and Natasha Lee both have videos on how to make your own cuticle oil pen, which is pretty handy. Natasha Lee's also shows how to take apart, clean and refill the pen brushes so you can reuse them instead of tossing them out.

My nail care routine: First I shape my nails. Im growing a coffin shape) Then I apply some coconut oil, or vaseline. They both have similar effects. You can get them both at the dollar store. For like 50 cents. Then I get a Q tip and dip it in. I rub it on, around, and the top of the nail. I gently scrub it in. Then I apply some lotion. Any lotion is fine but I like the eczema therapy ones. Then I apply a base coat of nail strengthener. Make sure it says “Calcium” if you get one. Calcium helps your nails get stronger and grow a bit faster. You get it for about 2 dollars. I know its a bit expensive for a little bottle but its really worth it. Depending on how it affects your nails. If I dont use it I apply Shellac. Under the UV light. I don’t recommend it though, because it weakens your nails. But while its on kts really protected. I do this routine every 2-3 days. Maybe not the Shellac every 2-3 days, but I do shellac every...maybe 1-2 weeks. Hope this helped you! Thanks 4 reading.

When drying your hands after washing use the towel to gently push back your cuticles. I need to be more diligent about using cuticle oil. When I DO think to use something on my cuticles I use a product called Africa's Best Herbal Oil. It's a mix of different oils (Castor, Sesame seed, Jojoba, etc). I buy it at WalMart.
