20:00 My 2-Month MCAT Study Calendar Hello friends, this video is super long so thanks for sticking around till the end (especially my fellow Gen Zers with short attention spans like me)! I’m trying something new this video, i.e. paying my ghostwriters 50% more, in hopes of making boring topics (what’s more boring than the MCAT??) more engaging. Let me know below if you think the ghostwriters deserve the raise and I’ll be sure to censor the comments to my liking! My next four videos will be on each of the four MCAT sections (specific tips and example passage walkthroughs) so stay tuned!

About to speed-run this MCAT grind. First month was a very slow start given that burnout from the school year was still carrying over (and general lack of discipline), currently slightly less than 2-months left and this video gave me the extra bit of motivation I needed. Is there any chance you would be willing to do any private lessons, perhaps once a week zoom meeting going over some practice passages for chemistry and physics? (Also a bit of biochem in there) I have a little less than 2 months left, this is my first and only mcat I will be taking before applying this upcoming cycle and I have awful content gaps that I couldn’t manage to get through using the Kaplan books due to zoning out and I don’t retain anything from just reading. regardless, I realize this is just the comment section here on KZbin, but I am quite terrified and seeking help from anyone who has a good understanding of Chem and physics. I really like how you break down everything into simple terms and your relatable sense of humor.

My personal study style is to study everything super thoroughly, so I will make sure I've completely understood and retained a topic before moving on to the next one. Is it better to study while tacking your undergraduate classes or taking those classes and then studying
@RoyceDong3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question. The short answer (in my opinion) is that you should try to take at least *most* of your pre-med classes before studying for the MCAT, but it’s okay if there are some classes you haven’t taken.
@RoyceDong3 жыл бұрын
I think even if you take the classes that will be covered on the MCAT (e.g. let’s say you take intro bio at your school), you’ll still have to study biology using the Kaplan books for the MCAT because your intro bio course won’t cover all the same topics that are in MCAT bio. So talking the undergrad courses beforehand only *helps* you for the MCAT section, but prob aren’t sufficient on their own without doing the Kaplan book. Also, if you haven’t taken the undergrad course yet, you can still self-study the section completely using the Kaplan books and you should still be fine-Kaplan is pretty comprehensive for bio and physics (and khan academy is comprehensive for psych) and you shouldn’t need outside info, e.g. from an undergrad course. FYI I didn’t take biochem before the MCAT so I self-studied that entirely using Kaplan and that was okay for me
