If you are going to use lead tape and apply it without gloves make sure to wash your hands afterwards in cold water NOT HOTWATER. This keeps your pores closed and makes handling lead much safer

I have the S2 Luxx, shorter handle than the Hesacore is sold, can it be used on the S2 or will it need to be cut to fit? Also, can it be put over the Selkirk original grip, I don't like removing how the paddle was originally put together.
@pickleballplaybook10 ай бұрын
You’ll want to remove the stick grip and put it on under it. You can always save the stock grip and put it back on later too. And yes it will fit the S2

So on your video recommendation I bought the Hesacore, I just put on my Hesacore, and over wrap. I've played 2 times with it 4 hours worth. It makes Eastern very easy to find repeatably. but in my opinion(for my large hand) one hand switching to Continental for backhand blocks and punches or roll volleys at the NVZ are harder to switch to on the fly. The Continental bevel (bevel 2) is smaller and so the Hesacore "pockets" are smaller, on the bevel 3 (eastern) they are big and my knuckle and finger tips sink into them well for Easterngrip like your do. It certainly "locks in" Eastern well. But Im not sure I can stick with the Hesacore grip because Continental is so nebulous and not solid to me. plus it's hard to switch because the bevel 3 pockets are so pronounced compared to the bevel 2. Kind of bummed because I took my sweet Six Zero Ruby stock grip off. My question to you Austin, is do you switch from Conti to Eastern on the fly?
@pickleballplaybook11 ай бұрын
If you switch grips “on the fly” I would definitely recommend a traditional grip. I hold eastern forehand at the baseline and then change to in between continental and eastern (2.5) at the NVZ, so I have plenty of time to switch in my transition!
@8630911 ай бұрын
I will give that a shot of switching as I move forward ! Are you in Eastern for your 2 handed backhand from the baseline?@@pickleballplaybook

i had this same exact issue you're having especially on backhand rolls switched back to a traditional grip and felt much better.
I would recommend using nitrile gloves Also Selkirk makes tungsten weights which is a safer alternative

Is your hesicore grip the elongated version or regular size for a Luxx paddle?
@pickleballplaybook11 ай бұрын
Regular size. I wouldn’t recommend elongated for any paddle other than the gamma one!

To clarify, are you using the normal hesacore grip for an elongated paddle? I thought that's what the elongated hesacore is for. Not sure if your Luxx is elongated.

Love the content! I have been considering the Hesacore to help with tennis elbow. What are your thoughts on it's vibration dampening? I am a little concerned about the added weight of the Hesacore as weight is the enemy of TE. Are they heavier than the original grip? Finally, do you lose some "feel" on your shots due to the rubber grip?
@pickleballplaybook11 ай бұрын
I’d say I don’t notice any weight difference from it and a stock grip but it’s probably a bit heavier! If anything it increases your hand speed slightly by getting a bit more weight down there. As for vibrations, I think lead tape placement will help most with that!
