I show how I sharpen my knives on a daily / weekly basis. This set up is exactly what I have been using for the last year. If you do not have a lot of time but still want a SUPER sharp knife, this knife sharpening set up is highly recommended.
Get strops here⬇️ (My website)
www.knifepointgear.com
We have THE BEST strops, diamond compound, chromium oxide compound, and leather for diy strops. Don't purchase leather elsewhere online for diy strops as the quality can be absolute garbage! COUGH* amazon... Its super rough, inconsistent, and not flat. We hand select our leather in person, so you know your getting the best quality possible. If there was a better leather available, we would buy it, and use that. Our leather is Very firm and dense, but soft to the touch. It holds compound very well and is perfectly flat...because we flatten it, using a secret method 😉

Hi there. Love your videos. I believe you make the most profound knife-sharpening content. I've got a question, though. Will this setup (the diamond stone) work with cheap kitchen knives? Like, I believe, with those which haven't been heat treated. I have a different cheap self made setup (with sand paper), if you're interested, I can share the build )

I am a woodworker by trade and I have to sharpen all of my edge tools on a regular basis. This is an excellent introduction to sharpening and something i wish someone had shown me this when I first started. It is really important to understand the mechanics of what is actually going on at the edge of your blade.

Wow, I can't believe that I missed this video when it came out. Alex, welcome back to the knife world. I've really missed these videos. I took your advice to heart and made myself a strop. Since then I went from never having stropped before to stropping everything that I sharpen. I also strop my EDC regularly. I've learned that a few quick afterwork passes can keep my blade honed for weeks between sharpenings. Thank you for all your help and advice. I really hope you get a new workshop set up and look forward to seeing your future videos.
