Hey Haaris, I'm using your technique from your 1st video on L2 prep, and I really want to thank you, my understanding is way better, and I feel more confident with both, videos and additional notes rather than only MM notes, thanks again !

After you mentioned first principle thinking (which I had never heard before) I started doing some research into it. Would be very interesting to hear your explanation of it and particularly how and where it can apply to the CFA.

Hey Haaris, for the IFT notes are their free notes sufficient along with Mafk Meldrum? Or do you recommend getting both the Main notes and High yield package? I'm doing L1 btw
@HaarisZamir
@HaarisZamir 5 ай бұрын
Free notes might be fine, depending on how confident you're feeling. I'd always recommend high yield notes for the reviews though - game changer

Great video! For L1 do you think it would be sufficient to just follow MM's videos and notes and just buy IFTs high yield course?
@HaarisZamir
@HaarisZamir 5 ай бұрын
Yes that's probably fine for L1

Hey Haaris, what would you recommend to do for the sections where some L1 knowledge is required? Eg for Quants would you recommend to completely relearn some L1 content or to just glance over it?
@HaarisZamir
@HaarisZamir 5 ай бұрын
Just glancing over it is fine to refresh memory, and then if you don't understand L2 material, go back to L1 and dig deeper

Hello Haaris. I wanted to learn valuation and I landed on Prof. Ashwath Damodaran's YT channel and there's a valuation for undergrads series going on. But upon reaching the 3rd video I didn't understand much of anything, I realized I lack basic financial knowledge and I'm really interested in studying finance. Can you please give me a direction to start, idk where my first step towards learning about finance should be.

Hey - so if you're a graduate, I wouldn't consider the CFA. Instead, take a look at the IMC (also provided by the CFA institute), which could be a better choice. Or otherwise take a basic "intro to finance" course of some sort, I'm sure there's lots online. Finance is very broad so there's no simple starting point. But generally, try to understand a bit about economics / markets, financial statements, equity & debt - that's a decent place to start. Good luck
