Cool story Nick! I was a Lineman for 35 years been retired for two I’ve always love trucks a friend of mine has a small trucking company here in Florida “ just went through a hurricane “ he hauls beer from Albany Ga. to Ft. Myers and Pompano I go with him from time to time and drive when one of his drivers is off. Lot more to it than people realize. Love the channel! Keep the coal rolling bro!

I started in the fields when I was 12yo with a '46 Chevy 1 1/2 ton, which we still have yet. Went on the road between our farms at 14yo, got my license at 16yo, started driving school bus at 18, drove milk semi at 19, bought my 1st truck at 23.

A Beautiful Rig!! My Family is out of N. Louisiana had a logging Co. I used to drive for them without a CDL at 14yrs old. I was just running logs out to the road & handing it over. Then I got laid off as an Electrician Helper many years later & while on Unemployment I gotta call asking if I'd like to become a Trucker? I said, heck yeah but couldn't afford training. My local College had a 10 month CDL Credited Course fully paid through a Federal Grant for those on Unemployment. Yeah, it was long time training but well worth it. Then I started with Crete & left because my buddy had a W900 Cherry Red & a Cherry Red 389 Long Nose Pete. He asked if I wanted to make some real money by running his Pete up in the Dakota's from SE Texas area. I said yeah baby! Just as I was well over a million miles with no Violations, citations or shutdowns. I had a Stroke that put me into SSI/DI Retirement. Love watching these vids seeing the roads I used to run. Long way from S. Houston 🤟 If I could drive now? I'd be back up there or for Walmart with no headaches & $110k a year. All Companies are basically begging for clean record highly experienced drivers now days

I got into OTR driving by being a heavy duty diesel mechanic for the Government. When you work for the Government you are exempt from having a CDL as a diesel mechanic. After about 7-years of working for the Government I got laid off. When I applied for other diesel mechanic jobs they all said I have to have a CDL. I went to the unemployment state office, and got the state to pay for me to go to a truck driving school to get my CDL. By the way, I saw your rig at Art's car show.
