I'm glad you spoke about this topic because time and time again we see articles talking about how vegan diets are 'dangerous' and' impractical' during a pregnancy. In my personal view its highly practical and doable and takes just as much planning as a normal non-vegan diet pregnancy.

I dont know much about nutrition, and I find it really difficult to look in to it, with all the blogs and articles that come my way in my research, I never know if the information is good or not. I would really like if you could do a breakdown of nutrition, as in depth as you could. For example iron, when explaining iron, you could explain the recommended doses, sources for it and maybe what you personally do to get it. I would really appreciate something like this, packed with information. I feel like you know what you are talking about, specially when you back everything up. Hope you consider doing something like this. Hope everything is okay with baby, you and your partner.

Just curious, was there a reason why you chose to take the vitamin D supplement rather than have your baby take it? It sounded like there was a lot of thought behind that

TheImpiroGirl i take my little newborn out into the sun naked for about 5 minutes. That helps with vitamin D... but I also give my wife 5k IU's vitamin D for her breastmilk. Then I also use vitamin D mushrooms for my wifes meals. I put the mushrooms out into the sun for a few hours to get even more D into them. Just trying to give some ideas in case others could benefit.

I was still kinda learning as a vegan when I got pregnant and around 6 month mark I started adding animal foods in again as I got scared and listened to people and wasn't eating enough protein and I was anemic and very constipated and I had low albumin levels and all sorts . I wish I had looked into it more and stayed vegan . I'm back on it now . my kids veggie too

I had been vegan for three years before my pregnancy and had at least done some basic research. I also studied dietetics in college for two years before changing majors, so I had a pretty solid foundation. I took supplements, and did my best to eat well at the beginning. After about four weeks of vomiting six to eight times a day and missing a ton of work, I one day was craving a grilled cheese. Begrudgingly I ate it and I miraculously didn’t barf. Then I cried for like an hour from how guilty I felt. I continued to barf throughout my entire pregnancy, with the exception of carbs and cheese. Every fruit, vegetable, and nearly every protein I can think of made me sick, followed by vomiting and crying. I last vomited the day before I delivered. After she was born I immediately went back to a vegan diet, but you would not believe how much shit I got from other vegans during my pregnancy. I felt emotionally and physically awful and other vegans did not help. I appreciate this video so much. We are planning for baby #2 and eating/vomiting is honestly the thing I am dreading. I’ll try the high cal smoothie idea-hope it goes better this time!

Peter James are all animals and humans the same? Are not some animals more on the level of children when you say morally and intellectually? Some less and some more? My analogy works. I'm not justifying killing animals because I think it's wrong. I'm saying that trying to convince people to not do it because of a double standard is not a good idea. Because a double standard is not necessarily a good way to measure if you should or should not do something.

The Seitan Recipe oh for Christ's sake grow up! Go Google the recipe for kale seitan there are hundreds of recipes for it. This is written about in every fucking video and it's getting tiresome. Her exact recipe is probably the same as half of the other ones out there. So go find a recipe! She has been pregnant and now has a baby I don't think posting kale seitan is in the Upper Front of her mind. You sound like a whiny child and I realize that they were months that the recipe could have been posted but it's up to her it is her Channel! Stop being a baby and go find a recipe.

Emy Anderson Hi. Plant sources of iron are better absorbed if you have something containing a good amount of vitamin C with the same meal. Also try to avoid having tea and coffee at the same time as your iron rich foods. The iron in foods like spinach becomes more available if you cook it instead of eating it raw. 🙂

@AskYourself
@AskYourself 7 жыл бұрын
I will personally explain it to you, she publicly accused me of being wrong with zero evidence, implied I'm a racist, and is now trying to avoid debate or discussion cause I'll destroy her and she knows it. A few funny levels of hypocrisy with the racist nonsense.. 1. Swayze claims to be rational and should understand that guilt by association with Cory is a fallacy, 2. The average carnist is causing far more damage than Cory so she should by her own logic avoid carnists, 3. She has talked positively about that black guy who deconverts racists by spending time with them. That's not even getting into the flaws with the position of Philosophical Moron, who she has endorsed and has obvious bias towards #philodough. You ain't getting out of this Swayze.. Retract, defend, or slowly lose credibility.

My dietitian told me that your body can only process 25 to 30 grams of protein at one time. So its not actually beneficial for vegans to eat one meal that is really high in protein and that we should spread it out through the day. American healthcare is so reduculous when it comes to recommending all these extra supplements. Other western nations that also practice evidence based medicine don’t go telling pregnant mothers they have to give vit d to breastfed babies or even to take a multi. I have had Australian and uk doctors and all were against multivitamins ( not folate which you can get individually and it is tonnes cheaper) and none have made me give vit d to my fully breastfeed son. I think perhaps pharmaceutical company pressure may have something to do with this. Babies are not heather in the USA than in Australia or the UK.more vitamins is also not necessarily better. There was a paper that came out a few years ago that found a correlation between early and pre pregnancy multivitamin use and significantly higher rates of miscarriage with the rate increasing with the longer pre-pregnancy the multivitamin was taken for.

A. I hate being pregnant and do not plan on doing it again so I feel you on that. B. I've had NO issue staying vegan (currently almost 6 months pregnant) at all. Like, I've had zero temptation or cravings or whatever. I was vegan for almost two years prior and I think thats probably why, its just whats normal to me. If I was transitioning while pregnant or right before I could see potentially struggling. I know JessieSmies had just transitioned before she got pregnant and wasn't able to maintain it supposedly due to the pregnancy.

Also, I struggled hardcore in my first trimester and would have as a vegan or non vegan. I absolutely did not get enough calories or nutrients because my morning sickness was so terrible. I was vomiting all the way up until I was 17 weeks. So if you're in your first trimester and your diet isn't perfect, just do your best and know that its really really common. I beat myself up about it for a long time, but there was nothing I could have done better.

I had been vegan for 2 years when I became pregnant (which wasn't planned). I was not really that informed about nutrition, I didn't quite know how to make out sources on the web as pseudoscientific and unreliable. I had just started supplementing at the time for example. I figured it would be better to include a few animal products again. Just because I realised I didn't have the time and resources with this unplanned pregnancy (figuring out how my life and my relationship are going to work in the future) to spend as much time caring about my nutrition. Plus, I didn't have any nausea nor food aversions. Which is a good thing. But I had such a tremendous appetite, once I started with a little bit of fish and a little bit of dairy, I started eating sweet and savoury non vegan stuff, throughout my whole pregnancy. Not excessively non vegan but vegan and non vegan stuff I liked. (Mostly I'd say still vegan or plant based just because it's a habit). It's just really really hard, I've always been a disciplined eater but then everything just tasted 10 times better :D I still haven't gone back to veganism, I pity that because it's the better way to live ethically if possible :( although I want to go back, the "final transition" to no animal products as all is as hard as it has been two years before my pregnancy. Plus, right now I have very little time due to taking care of my still small not sleeping through the night kid and a fulltime job. But I'll surely be back on the vegan track once I've more time and resources to care about my nutrition and as soon as I'm ready to give it more importance as well.

I first tried seriously going vegan while I was like 4 months pregnant 😂 😂 needless to say that did not end well, and I didn't actually commit to the lifestyle until my baby was about 4 months old. Totally agree, changing your diet in any way whilst pregnant is generally way too stressful on your mind and body.

I'm vegan, and I'm not arguing. She made the distinction between going vegan while pregnant and being vegan years prior to pregnancy and why the former could be detrimental if you don't already know what you're doing. Watch the video. You shouldn't be experimenting with a baby in your fucking womb.

Lmao, you are such a hypocrite, how can you say you are a vegan for ethical reasons and have children? Having a child in this age is possibly one of the most unethical acts
@DSBAtlas
@DSBAtlas 7 жыл бұрын
'extreme' is such a horrible argument. Anyway we live in extreme times. Society is approaching 'extreme' circumstances that will only be amplified by having children. 'You can be vegan for ethical reasons and have children.' sure, no problem, but that means you are a complete moron. Any ethical reason to refuse animal products also applies to refusing children, and I would argue that it is stronger in the case of not having children. It is mind boggling to me that someone could become a vegan for 'ethical reasons' and then go ahead and plan having a child, get pregnant, an birth the child. It's completely contradictory.

It's actually quite simple. You could have everybody who uses the internet in some way have to take a test, and then throw everybody who falls through in a designated "degenerates and trolls" area, where they can shout their stupid bs at each other but never other people that low. since this would be require quite some effort and time, God invented another solution: simply IGNORE the degenerates and trolls. this is why people like UV will forever ignore such childish claims. it's basically the same as locking them all in one area and throw the key away since when they're ignored, they can't bother anyone.

Do you know how many comments KZbinrs receive? Nowhere does it say that a KZbinr must answer comments and most don't. You have an issue and it's personal with her not her videos period every video that this woman makes is backed up with sources that are listed and you can go and read when they are real science. You are rude and ignorant as far as I can see.

Babbage Axel she doesn't answer comments. It is very rare that she will answer somebody and she doesn't have to answer anybody. Her videos are always on subjects that she chooses not subjects that will generate ad Revenue. I have never seen an advertisement on any of her videos and I know she spoke about it but her type of video is not subject to KZbin's loss of Revenue policy.

So is it vegan to support abortion?
@sannh
@sannh 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, they both support bodily autonomy. Both humans and animals have a right to be pregnant when they are ready. Animal agriculture artificially inseminates female animals and impregnates them at a more frequent rate than they would on their own. Also females of any species have more sentience than an embryo.
