Hey, this is pretty useful! I can now replace the nose and eyes on my stuffed rabbit I've had since I was 2 (17 years). They got a bit chiseled, so I think it's best to replace them

Glad it helped!

I recently got the Espeon plush from build a bear and I'm not happy with the half inch "line" for the nose they factory stitched on, this is a very helpful tutorial to give my plush a proper sniffer! she has no long fur, so it may be a challenge, but I feel confident now. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Great video! Very informative! What size needle do you use for the nose? Is it the same upholstery needle you use in your tools video?

I’m glad you enjoyed it Laurie! I use a 3” soft sculpture needle to stitch my noses.

Does this also work with the skinny type of threads? As a kid I dont really have the materials or the money to get those stuff. Thanks!
@LauraLynnsTeddyBears2 ай бұрын
Yes, it would work with embroidery floss. It will take longer, but it would work. I don't think regular sewing thread would work very well. But... if you don't have any other choice then it is certainly worth trying. A skein of embroidery floss can be purchased for less than $1 at JoAnn's Fabrics.

That definitely helps me I don't like the hard plastic noses

What size thread did you use for this one? Is it 5 or 3?
@LauraLynnsTeddyBears2 жыл бұрын
Hi Hanna, I used #5 for this bear’s nose.

Would normal thread work with just building it up?
@LauraLynnsTeddyBears3 жыл бұрын
Normal thread has a different texture. If you are having trouble finding pearl cotton, you can find it online. If you prefer to buy locally then you could try embroidery floss and build that up.

Hello! This video is very helpful to me since unfortunately my dog managed to chew on my plushie's nose, I'll probably start in a few days but for now do you have any tips on how to sew a hole shut before making the nose because my dog kinda ripped it (also I'm planning to give this toy to a special someone! Ty in advance!)
@LauraLynnsTeddyBears2 ай бұрын
I'm sorry that your dog chewed your plushie! It depends on where the hole is located. If the hole is at the tip of the muzzle where the nose was, then I'd first try to add some more stuffing through that hole. Then I'd whip stitch the hole closed with a thread that matches the fabric backing as close as you can. then I would stitch the nose.

Can I make embroidered eyes for teddy bears?
@LauraLynnsTeddyBears3 жыл бұрын
Hi María, yes you can. I have not done it myself, but it can be done and would be much safer for teddy bears for young children.

Oh no! Hope your teddy bear surgery goes well.

How’d the surgery go? (Assuming that you’ve done it, I usually take a while to get back to surgery’s... 😅 good thing I’m not a doctor!
