That's great - but now you need to stop being being brainwashed by the western media and western internet - which I think you are. It is good to be aware of brainwashing from media - but swapping one with another, wont work It is the same as swapping one religion for another.

@@junctionfilms6348 do you swap religions often?
@junctionfilms6348
@junctionfilms6348 2 жыл бұрын
@@WLHS Many people swap one mindset for another during their lifetime, or let's say, one ideological position for another. Sometimes that could be useful ( eg: a criminal swaps to being a Christian ) in the short term as a tool but ultimately, it does not get to the root of the matter. Saying: " I do not believe XYZ country's propaganda but I do believe the other one's" is really believing in the same action, with a different frame. Either, we should realise propaganda for what it is, in all it's forms and whoever is making or not. Believing in one and not the other, is just the demonstration of a bias. I think it is just that it is 'cool' for many young Russians to be 'anti government' and thereby express that in being 'pro western' but the fact is, 90% of them have never been to the west and do not know the realities of what it is like living there and also that the media is by no means free at all. As well as many oppressive measures take place, often surreptitious or overt, such as banning Russians representation in UK courts, which is illegal and against basic human rights.

No one is allowed to edit traditionally time honored religious books and critical thinking skills to ask the right enquiring questions about history and earth sciences are not permitted in grade school classrooms of church paid and run schools. No self respecting educated girl who reads the Bible without help would carry such a book around town. .Check out Christopher Hitchen's KZbin debates on how religion poisons everything. I changed to be not pretending to be Christian anymore when I attended AA meetings to stay sober in 2011 and I'm sober today. Wow! This is an excellent video! So much content yet stated in such an uncomplicated way. For a young man, you have much insight. You have a gift. The most important message, although not the only one, is that critical thinking is the key. Although it may sound a bit "cliche" to say that it's the younger generations, that we must depend on, not only in Russia but throughout the world, you have proven the practical reality of it in this video. The importance of education cannot be overstated. Your explanation of how you came from being one of the "mob" (for lack of a better word) in your initial acceptance and promotion of the annexation of Crimea to becoming an independent thinker is invaluable. Russia and the world need more young people like you. Be safe, continue on your unbeaten path and God bless. Glory and victory to Ukraine!

Right on spot. Critical thinking is the key to all evolution and liberation from a dictatorship. Zack is a young man, but his thinking is so many years ahead of his actual age. From what I see in other videos, there is a lot of people (both young and old, but yes mostly young) that really say what they're thinking of the present regime. Hard to say how big percentage, but my guess is up to 15% are anti government. Some more, maybe 20-25% are happy with Putin and supporting the regime. That leave the majority in a position where they just do their best to keep mouth shut, not to express any thoughts that could end in prison or other punishment. It is clear that we don't know what the majority of Russians really think of present regime. I still have a lot of respect for Russian culture and many of the great people originated from that nation. It is the leadership I very much condemn. Stay safe Zack, the future could be so much brighter with you and your generation leading Russia into the future together with other nations, not in total conflict with large parts of the world.

It's not necessarily that you changed, it sounds more like you discovered who you are. That's a journey for everyone, but many take the easy way out weather that's just agreeing with the mob, or deligating all policies to some else's problems. That A political stuff really stops most Russians, it seems, from changing things or even hoping to change things. Because of all of that it's refreshing to see your perspective and I think more people should hear from you.

It might not be that of here or now, instead -- the result of laziness, indifference of politics, delusion of grandeur (russia was never great, but for some reason many russians believe that) over many years; however people like zack is a rare exception and who as a russian citizen will also pay the price of this war. if europeans pay the price, zack will also have to pay the price, for example, with his own finance to help rebuild Ukraine.

I dreamed of visiting Russia and finally did in 2017. When you talked about perhaps having to delete your photos of the time in the US to cross out of Russia in your last video, I know I would have had the same impossible thought you did. And like you I would not have been able to lose those pictures of St.Petersburg and Moscow. I hope the war ends. So glad to know you, Zack. Thank you for sharing videos of your life. I am interested, I live in California.

Just watched your interview and discussion with Jake Broe. A great salute to you from a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer. I just clicked the subscribe button. Thanks for speaking out and helping to educate the world that there are good people in all countries, especially Russia. 👍🏾

Having been brainwashed and educating yourself is a strong advantage. It helps you understand how the others think and it gives you the critical skills to think about what ever your hearing. You're lucky❤️👍

Thankfully you know what's going on, and thankfully you are not brainwashed. Keep the faith in humanity, Zack. I'm from the U.S. and we have horrible warring politics also and millions of brainwashed people also, of course.

That was really fascinating- thank you for sharing. I think it helps us in the west understand how so many Russians can support this, while also giving hope that there are in fact Russians who can see past the propaganda. It also a little bit helps, as an American, to understand some of the rising tides of extremist nationalism here, and why there are actually some Americans who support Putin- or at least “understand why he’s doing this” - even though there is no excuse, he’s just wanting to be seen as a strong man and expand the borders like hitler did for Germany. Thank you- you’re a really Good guy!

I also encourage you to build up your community make those livestreams and gain some patrons people are very interested in your opinions and views of what is happening in Russia right now. The rest of the world knows practically nothing about Russia and what’s going on there It’s very interesting that young people in Europe and the US are so interested in you. Use that to build a brand and really make the channel influential. I see other Russian KZbinrs who are far less intellectual and interesting building very large audiences. We want to hear more from Zack

In fact those other youtubers like Konstantin and Niki should educate their big audience of the things that are happening in Ukraine. Most of their viewers haven't subscribed Ukrainian vloggers. Only Russian.

Brilliant vlog!! So hard to go against your family and friends’ beliefs growing up. You were lucky to have seen your step father questioning things. Teachers who gave you the chance to gain knowledge. You are an amazing person. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Stay strong you have support from all over the world.

Zack the Russian, I’m a 70 yr old American . My father was also a foreign exchange student who studied Russian in 1963 when Nikita Khrushchev was prime minister. He came home after 9 months singing Russian songs and brought back rolls of film about Russia. it’s funny because as a young girl I loved those song and thought they were folk songs and found out many years later they were Soviet Military Marching songs! My dad also was an interpreter for the Russian Olympiad, Tamara Press, when she came to California. My father was a very intelligent linguist and travel the world. Because of him I also lived in other countries and was able to compare. It a great gift to see how governments influence and control its citizens. You are a breath of fresh air . Thank you for educating the unknowing.

Zack, you are a "free thinker," a thoughtful young man whose character is guided by intellectual honesty. You are not only intelligent (😊 very...) you are endowed with a "superior" form of intelligence (inseparable from honesty/truth, analytical thinking and critical thinking). Keep being that special Human Being, faithful to your ethical principles and "human rights". I hope that the Russian Millenium generation will be able to carry out a real (albeit peaceful) "SOCIAL/DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION" in Russia. 👍

Zac, you are a bright guy, and it is interesting to listen to what you have to say. I would like you to explore where you think this is all going... perhaps you can do a zoom with some of the other Russian expats and show it on YT. I think for me it would be quite interesting, especially if you could get into some depth. Thanks!
