Ooh girl, THANK YOU for this! I tried this today and had no idea my hair could do this lol. It came out so cute and I got a lot of compliments! I never stretched my wash and go so even tho I’m almost at waist length my hair stayed at my neck 🤣 (hecka shrinkage). All I needed to do was pull out the dryer at the end. Yasss! Can’t tell me nuthin now 😂

I'm styling my hair for my wedding. My hair is well past mid-back. I want to do a wash and go with bangs and wear a flower crown over my hair. This method will give me the bangs I want since I don't want my coils in my eyes. But I'm having a conflict between stretching my hair to just get my length back (shrinkage is damn near 80%) or stretching to get big hair and max volume.🤔🤷🏾♀️

omg I just came up with a hair dryer that will change the game... a hair dryer u put ur hair in kinda like a box... so basically u sit down and put ur hair in from the top and there's a hood attachment like a regular dryer and this way u can dry ur ends all at once.. idk if tht makes sense

It’s so crazy how when black females hair is curly it’s so huge like they have so much hair but then when we straighten it it looks so thin. Science! O_O I don’t really understand it but it’s certaintly cool as heck. I cut off 2 inches of hair two weeks ago and I have a little fro and I’ve been keeping up with my two deep conditions twice a week so I’m hoping I can start growing my hair out because i was horrible with maintenance but it’s defenitly a lot of work to do that’s probably why I didn’t bother doing it because it took so much time. I’m in the shower a whole hour and that’s just applying conditioner and then adding deep conditioner D:

So it’s ok to dry your hair like that each wash day? Do you use heat protectant? I want to stretch my hair but I’m afraid of heat damage.
@taniyahfraser5 жыл бұрын
She's not applying direct heat with the hooded dryer. The stretching method with the blowdryer is direct heat; however, but I think the amount of product in her hair serves as a type of heat protectant. When blowdrying your hair for a silk press, you would apply heat protectants because you naturally shouldn't have any heavy products that can weight down the straightened hair. With curly hair, the heavy products, in this case, serve as a shield, so if you were to try this make sure your hair has product in it (L.O.C or L.C.O) the same goes for when you're blowdrying your hair straight but you would only need 1 layer of heat protectant. I hope this makes sense, and I'm sorry if this didn't format it right. It kinda all over the place
@Listen2me4005 жыл бұрын
Taniyah Fraser I blow dry my hair every now and then with heat protectant, but I’ve never stretched it like this. It seems excess to me if you do it every week, but I’m gonna give it a try.
@MzMahoganyHoneyBrown5 жыл бұрын
I think she has coarse strands so it can probably can withstand the heat more
