Please turn on subtitles (the music gets a bit loud in some areas), and check out the description for a list of all resources mentioned in the video! Ahh! I seriously agonized over whether or not to publish this video for months because I didn't know if it would be weird to suddenly have such a chatty video when all of my previous videos were no-talking. Hi, I would love to add something to the kanji study. Brute memorization will burn you out and you may forget them pretty soon, because of their sheer number. I would recommend Remember the Kanji (it also has awesome Anki deck: All in One Kanji Deck (Heisig's RTK Order, 6th edition)) , Kanji Koohii and/or WaniKani. It is based on method, where you depict individual kanji into smaller parts (primitives) and make stories out of them. Even though it took me over one year to finish the book, I found it fun and rewarding. 😊

As a fellow japanese learner, ill drop the real sauce. few strict rules beforehand: never use textbooks, only study grammar for 30 minutes max a day, only practice speaking after 8-12 months month 1: learn kana by heart and do Core 2.3k deck on aki watch japanese shows with english subtitles watch Cure Dolly grammar playlist videos (3 per day should be fine) month 2: do the same just start watching japanese shows without any subtitles month 4: should be done with core 2.3k and cure dolly videos start sentence mining and continue watching shows without subtitles start reading easy news and things of those nature month 6-8: start reading actual (children) books etc look up words you dont know, dont go overboard month 8-12: you can start speaking continue doing the other stuff month 36: you can stop sentence mining at this point you are fluent, you will never have to study japanese again. you we will be able to learn just by watching shows and reading books. this is all you need to learn japanese (or any language for that matter), no boring textbook study or classroom environment. im currently on month 25 and i completed N1 exam solely by immersing, if i can do it you can do it as well.

@@trulyjia No it’s fine. I mean really i’m not even saying that what you taught in the video was inherently wrong but there’s a faster and less boring way to do it. You should really look into immersion (refold, mia, ajatt, steve kaufmann). I really do wish you would teach that instead to others and even better implement it for yourself. I only gave a rough sketch of how it done and fast you can accomplish your goal with solely immersing. But at the end of the day everyone has a method that works best for them and if you enjoy using textbook then there’s nothing wrong with that. Some people require structure for example and textbooks provide that. Also my comment may have came off as disrespectful towards your video and putting it down in a way but I’m really just trying to bring awareness to immersion methods in a somewhat subtle and oversimplified way
@trulyjia

I am so sorry about the audio; it was not my intention at all for the music to turn out obnoxious (I had hoped it would be relaxing but I understand that was not achieved). This was my first video with a voiceover, and I will be sure to work on the audio more with future videos. I appreciate the advice, and I hope the video was still enjoyable regardless.

I am so sorry about that. As mentioned in the description, pinned comment, and my replies to all the comments, this is my first video with a voice over. Please turn on subtitles (which hopefully help), and I will be sure to work on any audio issues in the future.
