Imagine if you could wake-up everyday excited about the hours of studying that's to come and maintain that feeling. Sounds impossible and to be honest you’re right. We just can't be happy about doing something we don't really want to. So, the only way to get us excited about studying is to trick our brains into actually wanting to study. This "want" or motivation to study will allow you to not only study for longer but importantly will allow you to be happy whilst you do it. So how can we go from totally disliking the idea of studying for hours to actually being excited by it? Well, by using an understanding of how our brain creates motivation. Scientifically speaking, motivation provides an activation and direction to our behaviour towards a reward or away from a negative punisher. So if you want to feel motivated and excited, there needs to be a reward at the end of the tunnel or a punisher chasing you from behind. In this video, I'll explain how I used the idea of rewards and punishers to trick my brain into wanting to study. I did this mainly by creating 3 levels of reward: short, medium and long-term. I unfortunately also used the concept of punishers, but this can be a very dangerous route, creating anxiety and worry if things don’t go to plan. And finally, I talk about the concept of habit-formation, which essentially bypasses the need for motivation. This can be a very powerful way of automating your day. #motivation #study #work #exam

I would as well suggest to find a way to enjoy the studying process it self, by either trying to see the subject in a more interesting way, or also by remembering how you’re actually gonna need that information later on, either in your exams or in the real life.

Positive thinking and reward makes your brain .. to relax. So to use motivation to do things you don’t want, fear is more effective yo use. Its also gives the energy to do things. Fear or anger. Shame. This is why all these “negativity” were used to control humanity very effectively. And to make positivity work for you as motivation you have to do double work. 1. To think, 2. redirect thinking patterns, 3. Do it more often. 4. Keep your attention current in this tunnel.. 5. Work with all negative self criticism. 6. Talk to yourself like it’s somebody else.. so on.. Sooooo.. its alot of work.. six time more.. But, one good thing coming from positive.. its expand your consciousness.

Thanks so much! That’s so nice to hear those tips are working for you! I highly recommend using the testing effect and doing a lot more past paper questions. Looking at the mark schemes and getting a feel for what’s the difference between what you write and what the model answer is. Then bridging the gap between the 2!

This is the only way. There is no shortcut. you dont like it, keep doing it. if your are: Sad, Keep doing it Frustrated, Keep doing it Angry, Keep doing it Not motivated, Keep doing it not interested, Keep doing it JUST DO IT AND KEEP DOING IT again, again and again...........................................................................
