If you break the tab. It just makes it easier to takenout lol. You just secure it with the screws. Also on the 12vhpwr cable. Make sure its plugged in fully to the gpu if its a 4080 or 4090. It can cause a fire sadly. Can happen on any but those are so high power it can occur on them much easier.

I was gonna comment the same thing about the 12vhpwr cable. Also if the cable is bend too hard, it might also brick the GPU. Better get one of those 90 or 180 degree adaptors if the cable needs to be bended hard just to get the front panel to close. Hopefully Pekin sees this.

The adapter is definitely fully plugged in. The glass is pressing on the cable but I don't really think it's very close to the plastic parts that clip in. So I think it's not bent too bad. At least I hope not

Ah yeah, if you upgraded to these GPUs and the adapter you're talking about is this one specifically (it's huge...16 pins), DEFINITELY make sure it's really, REALLY on there. Where the adapter is 100% flush with the socket, no gap at all. It's VERY important. Well-documented that it can literally melt or catch fire.

For future reference, you can press that tab pretty easily with the eraser of a pencil, much less chance of breaking your motherboard if it slips. I have small enough hands that I'm usually able to squeeze in there and get it, but hope that helps for next time!

I'm up this late, Pekin Grats on getting your new GPU in, I know PC hardware can be daunting if you're not used to doing it every day. Those GPU power adapters suck if you don't have a massive case, but as long as it's just the cable bending the one time and not a lot of pressure bending on the adapter itself, should be fine. Just wanna make sure you're not constantly bending it/unbending it over and over, that's how they can wear out and cause electrical fires, lol. Hopefully this fixes your frame drops, too.

Hey Pekin, Be careful with smushing the GPU cable against the glass, the heat and pressure from inside the case can cause the cable to eventually break or stop working correctly. (I have a small form-factor PC and had this issue with newer bigger GPUs) I would recommend trying to cable manage the cables as much as possible to reduce any stress on the connector. (Considering that if you need to replace the cable for the PSU, it can't be just any cable, but the one specifically designed for your PSU, and sometimes it's only sold as a bundle. Ask me how I know 😅)

I had issues with having cables that were too long as well. Not sure if your case can do this, but I'm able to remove the both sides of the case (If it was on a table, one would be the side looking at the motherboard, and the one underneath it, behind the metal backing). This means that it was possible to run the long cables behind the motherboard to keep the space relatively open. Might be worth looking into if your case lets you do this too.

For the record, even your new GPU drops frames according to LoL's tracker. Though, that FPS tracker in league is a Riot feature, so you might take it with a grain of salt. But you did fluctuate between 142 and 144 quite a few times. And that last fight was between 139 and 144. Note for anyone who cares - that 139 could cause screen tearing since he's on, presumably, a 144 mHz monitor. Also, a 3080 is not an old card so that's weird that your be having problems already.

Edit: don't feel bad about having trouble with doing work on your computer, I studied IT in high school for 3 years, and actually building my first PC took like 3-4 hours, it worked first try, but holy shit it was stressful Many many motherboards have a gpu tab, and practically all mid range and above gpus are big enough to cover it, I agree that it's pretty annoying, but unfortunately that's probably just how it's going to be for the foreseeable future without some significant changes to gpu/motherboard architecture/technology

2:44 If I were you I'd make sure that the glass panel doesnt bend the cable too much. Judging by the box behind you it's a 4080/4090 which have a history of melting conectors (the extension you mentioned). By melting I mean literal fire hazard, GPU goes bye bye and ASUS probably won't refund it. Glass pressing on the panel *might* make it so the cable isnt seated properly and can be hazardous.

5:02 The Rammus getting Polymorphed during his W made it so that when he got out of it he was super small. 7:31 Electrocute refused to go off. Hate this bug. Ignite, an auto, and W and it didn't go off. Also what the hell was that Q? It didn't do damage for some reason despite being dead on to hit him. Smolder E just broken or something? Similar thing happened during the fight at 5:30 where 3 autos didn't proc Electrocute. Electrocute and Phase Rush are super finnicky about what counts for each hit, the time you have to make the 3 hits, and whether hitting another champ resets it on the first target hit. 9:08 Yet again. Ignite, auto, and W orbs didn't proc Electrocute. Electrocute should proc on Summoner Spells, so I think either Zoe's summoner spells or her W orbs are not counting for one of the Electrocute 3 hits.

That tab locks your gpu to the MB. Breaking it won't make it hard to replace the gpu...quite the contrary. It's a fail safe to keep your gpu from slipping out of its rail. Breaking that tab really only matters if you move your tower. You just have to babysit your gpu more, it's not an actual tragedy.
