How I Use A Trackball in Apex Legends

Thanks for the vid Frib! Personally, I cant hold it like you do without causing pain, so for anyone else looking for a good way to hold it here is how Ive been playing with mine (a pretty high rank competitive Overwatch 2 player). I play with my thumb on the left side of the mouse, my index middle and ring fingers on the ball to aim, and my pinky on the right side. Bottom thumb button is toggle ADS, top thumb button as Fire, middle button between them is melee. On the pinky side, I usually have the buttons bound to other action keys like ping, nades, abilities, etc. For anyone wondering what my sens is, I currently also use 800 dpi, but I use 2.4 in apex, and 8 in Overwatch. For games with no sens numbers, I usually slide it till I have about 90 degree range of motion ingame without picking up my fingers. Its been working really well for me. Hope it helps a few others!

So, a larger ball would be better for FPS games (or gaming in general)? I picked up a Elecom Deft and am having some difficulty switching from mouse. I figure a trackball should alleviate some early symptoms of (probably) carpal tunnel syndrome.

I’d say they are both pretty equal it really just depends on how precise you are.

I can't figure out how to tap strafe with the touch scroll, it doesn't seem to work. Is there something special that you did?

There is a setting on the gameball to change the rate of how fast the scroll wheel moves. You need to tap the touch button on the front of the mouse (there are only 2 settings, slow or fast. That will change the speed in which you scroll. You need it on the fastest setting for tap strafing to work because we need to hit W as fast as possible. Let me know if that works for you!
