Fun fact- the reason small miniatures use to come with a small piece of gum/candy (some still do) is because they can put it in the candy section in Japan which means more kids are likely to buy it! It’s a common thing

Just came back with a thought, this is probably why the brand you collect stopped coming with the candy as you said it became high ends collectory? Which means they where marketing to the collector side no longer kids so they had no need for the gum anymore

You forgot to mention the item condition rating on mercari is both super helpful but also not always reliable when doing searches. Most sellers rate the condition accurately because..Japan. But some are also very conservative as in they would rate something as “slightly damaged” but be perfectly fine because..Japan

i really appreciate how much attention is given to items sold on mercari japan bc i use it primarily for tamagotchi purchases and im so happy when i can find a model i really love for an affordable price and in much better condition than american sellers try to sell for crazy prices

the first time i tried to shop from buyee i didnt know about the additional fees theyd add AFTER you pay for your order and i couldnt pay the fees so i lost my cart and lost like 100$ because of the no refund thing. it still pains me to think about. BUT I WILL BE TRYING TO BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

One tip I’d give is that the Buyee app is quite limited and sometimes glitchy (logging you out randomly). I’d only use it if you had no other choice, or just for bidding. The search functionality is missing filters for used vs new items which can drastically increase the amount of pages you have the scroll through. It’s also generally slow to load pages compared to the browser.

You can ask buyee to consolidate your items into one large box instead of multiple smaller ones.

but that has like a 10 dollars fee cost right?? it is better that way for the shipping price or its the same paying for the small boxes than paying for a big one? bc if its the same i dont consolidate and save the 10 dollars that costs the consolidation

@@naturalkiller3473 I don't recall how much the consolidation fee was when I did this, and they may have increased it since, but it was easily cheaper to consolidate than it was to eat the higher shipping cost for not consolidating. I believe it was ¥500 or less, which is really nothing and can save you ¥1,000+ in shipping costs. If you only have a couple of small items, you probably don't need to worry about it, but if you've got several items each with their own shipping boxes and packaging, all that wasted space adds up fast.

I've been hearing of additional fees after initially ordering, like when your ordered item(s) arrive at the warehouse, can you explain that for me?
