Thanks for this video, I don't have any colored fineliners yet, I am going to look for the Staedler ones you mentioned. Normally I always do everything with pencils, my Polychromos, but this works a lot quicker. Have a really nice week dear K, I can't wait to see your completed pages for August. Greetings from Jessica Roks 🥰💜

I use fineliners quite a bit in my work also but I never considered using a water brush to soften it. I would sometimes just add fineliners and then quickly (before it dries) go over it with pencil. So using a water brush was a great tip 😊

That was very useful because I've never really known how to use fineliners in a pencil picture. Colouringkid uses them a lot but she's so good at it I never notice it. Same here, the pages you showed us, did not look obvious to me at all, but I can see how useful they are for deepening up edges and tiny detail. Nice to spend some time with you. Just wish it wasn't so early in the morning but my stupid brain woke me up and told me to be scared of the low light levels of early morning! So I had to get up to avoid going into a panic. It's been lovely all summer not having this horrible night fear of the dark, now it looks like it's reminding me to fear the clocks turning back even more than I already do!
@ColouringwithK Жыл бұрын
Thanks Sue. I dread the clocks going back too, I don’t like waking up when it’s dark and then driving to work during the dark mornings and coming back when it’s dark too. However, I do like the cosy evenings inside. Take care Sue and hope you managed to get some rest x

Oh thanks for this refresher !! I used to use fine liners years ago and had forgotten about their ability to be used a tiny bit with a water brush ! Plus I just purchased that amazing Abi Decker book ( vertical worlds) and need to use fine liners as of course my pencils will need some help .. lol . Take care ; you’re brilliant ❤

Hi K, I just wanted to complement you with your choice of camera. The first thing I noticed is that the audio quality has improved a lot. The colours appear very vivid and the images are so clear. You can really see all the details from your colouring pages now, this makes it even more enjoyable to watch your videos. 😊 I really like these type of videos. I always learn some new things and I just enjoy watching your finished colouring pages and hearing you talk about why and how you do things.

Hullo, darling girl! I haven't commented in such a long time. I do watch your vids all the time though and I enjoy you enormously. Love the new intro you've put together! You're so very, very talented, K. Last month I received the Arteza 120 set of Inkonic Fineliner pens. It's a beautiful set of pens and I am very blessed to have been given them, but it's a wee bit overwhelming with so many choices. I am trying to put groups of shades together - ones that will blend well (if that makes sense?). I mostly use them on mandalas with alot of tiny bits, but I would love to use them on other projects. I suppose I just need to get more comfortable with them. I already had a full set of Stabilo Fineliners and I adore them, but struggle with them for the same reason. Thank you for showing us all of the ways you use them. I am grateful. Could you kindly let me know the title of the cityscape colouring book - the one from Japan, please? I am trying to find it. Thank you, my darling! We appreciate you so much! Love and Bless xoxo

Thank you so much Lindsey for your sweet words, they mean a lot! The more you use the colours, the more comfortable you will be with them and it will become easier and easier in picking colours which go together. Have a look at colour charts and palettes on platforms like Pinterest too, as they give good inspiration. Do you have a tutorial on how you did the “Bee page” in the Mythographic Magical Earth book? When you tuned the page and I saw it, I gasped. It is GORGEOUS!!!👏🏻👏🏻 At the very least, could you tell me the name of whatever it is that you used to achieve that gorgeous gold color? I can’t tell if it’s marker, metallic watercolor, some kind of Posca pen? ❤
@ColouringwithK Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Sorry, I don’t have a tutorial but the gold is a metallic watercolour paint from The Art Spirits on Etsy, link here: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/736624427/yellow-gold-handmade-watercolors?click_key=cc3be8f46e8f0c646540eb83d5e5d81502bbc209%3A736624427&click_sum=99f75a9d&ref=shop_home_active_25

@@ColouringwithKHey hun, I don’t wanna be a bother but I have another question. Did you use the beautiful gold that you gave me the link to for the honey or the honeycomb? Because if it was for the honey itself, I desperately need the name of the gold used on the honeycomb. This is in reference to the “Bee page.” I hope that made sense. 🙃

Thank you K for this video. I am new to coloring and would like to buy some fineliners but never knew that you could activate them with a waterbrush! I guess there are water based ones available so I will have to check them out. The Staetler ones seem the best from what you said in your video. Your coloring pages are lovely!
@ColouringwithK29 күн бұрын
Yes, the Staedtler are water based fine liners so you can spread the pigment with water as long as they don’t dry on the paper too quickly so you can move the pigment

Coloring Kid has done several videos on fineliners. She actually blends hers with a qtip (I think you may call them a cotton bud?, they go by different names in different countries). I bought the full set of Staedtler because they sell them open stock but have yet to try them out. To be fair I've been testing a lot of other products lately in the process of reducing a lot of my pencil sets and haven't done a detailed page where it would be relevant since I bought them.
