I agree with you about it being complicated. I used to hear so many people rave about it, but I downloaded and deleted it 3 times before I could really figure it out. the learning curve for notion is STEEP asl i had downloaded it at least 4-5 times before actually getting the hang of it now im obsessed w it and have been recommending it to all of my friends 😭😭 who are still in high school

Notion is a good tool but don't forget that it's not end-to-end encrypted. It's not safe for private information, fyi. Other than that it's invaluable for many purposes.

oh dear I have a page with all my usernames and passwords for everything bc I forget them and its sorted with drop down titles letter so it's very easy. do you think that's going to be a security issue? I don't have bank details or anything but I'm not sure could it get hacked?

@@erin-iq8tm Hey Erin, the risk with apps that are not end-to-end encrypted (e2ee) is that any employee, especially developers, can access any account and see what's there. Likewise, so too can anyone who manages to hack into their system/network. When you use an app without e2ee, you're trusting that the company will not use your info/data which is visible to them. You're also trusting that they can protect that data from cyber attackers.

The notes template is absolutely amazing. It’s like the perfect active recall, “does this make sense can i explain this to a five year old”, organized note taking system ever!! I would add a way to apply spaced repetition tho but overall SO SO SO HELPFUL JADE!! Im starting uni tom so this also came at the perfect time. I love you. Best of luck on your dissertation!

I'm 31, going back to college in a week on Monday, currently working weekends with the NHS and someone told me about notion, so I downloaded it, and now I've made a table of all the courses/universities I've been interested in, made a Top 5 column to tick the 'big five' and then organised by how many UCAS points, so that I start making that application profile in a few weeks.

I downloaded Notion for my last year of high school, but I got overwhelmed by setting everything up and I never actually used it the way I had intended to. Right now, I've got a whole gap year in front of me to set up, try out and adjust my Notion before going to uni. Thank you for your (very practical) inspiration. Although I'll probably end up changing a lot, being able to copy the basics from you reduces a lot of my anxiety around it. *one general tip for everyone* - after typing / for a function, you can just type the name of it and press enter instead of clicking on it. So you can just type /toggle, and press enter as soon as the toggle function appears at the top.

Love this. I would suggest also linking pages. For example, for your project you can probably relate a lot of the info to notes from previous classes. You can link to those pages to help you put ideas together or find additional info. You just type [[

Tbh I found that "questions" and "summary" part really helpful in including in my note-taking in Notion. lol, this is pretty hilarious. I used to watch your videos 5 years ago, while studying for universities and used to also binge on "Study with me live videos". Head up- Most professors don't have practical experience, stay strong and dispute everything, it's soo easy for Professors to drop you mark and for it to later affect you. Most importantly, get practical experiences, started LinkedIn and website. This is the biggest thing that will decide your life. Deciding to do it after university or later, has set back so many of my colleagues. However small steps, it may be, it will be a significant big difference in the end. I hope this message prepares you to be recession protected 😭😂
