I feel like the whole point of a binder system is to be able to add as many pages as you need wherever you need it, You tried to use it as if it was a bound notebook when you could have just added in extra blank/lined/grid page(s) to make your to do lists. You might also just be more comfortable with a bound system like I am though.

I don‘t think you‘re the only one testing out different formats… most of us have done that probably more than once… :) I have found that my planning has to be in a bound book these days, all my collections go in ring binders. So I do have separate setups, but that‘s what works for me… and it doesn’t mean I don’t play around with sizes and paper and whatnot. But I learned that it can be part of the fun and so I accept it even if it means that I walk in the wrong direction for a while. ;)

I would be keen to buy your plotter from you if you are selling it I love the plotter system and love the bible size.

I already sold it back in August.

I also do not feel like I am a luxurious person, so I've never even considered one of these, no matter how attractive they are. I think you had an opportunity to acquire and test and you have done so. No judgement here on giving up and going back to what works for you!

Ah, yeah. It's a nice system for sure.

I actually wanted to try the Bible size and couldn’t find the dated inserts so I tore down my Weeks, hole punched and put in the plotter. I love it. I’ll be giving the Plotter inserts a try in 2024. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Yeah, I was too scared to do that. I'm glad you were more successful than I was, it's such a great system.

Thank you for giving us your straight forward thoughts and how things haven't been working for you. There's no point in trying to force something that isn't working. For me, I really like to have leather notebooks that have rings so that I can customize it to what I want. Everyone is different, and there's nothing wrong with trying different systems -part of the fun of experimentation. But also not worth turning your world upside-down and feeling scatter-brained. I'm sure you'll find a great home for that beautiful notebook.

I did. I thought I would like it more. And it's just too expensive to keep around in case I change my mind.

Thank you for your thoughts! I’ve been back and forth on purchasing a Bible size plotter for awhile now, but the price has put me off. It’s also super helpful to hear the reasons people choose not to use them. Do you know where to look for second hand covers for this brand?

You did a great job articulating the problem I had when trying to move into the plotter! I am enamored with it and really like the paper but I cannot adopt it in a way that works for me.

What about if you just used grid paper and drew out the weekly?

Yeah, I don't want to invest time in those things.

I too have tried a ring system, and I did not like it as much as I like my Hobonichi. Thanks for your take!

I would recommend looking at other "personal" sized inserts, they all fit in the bible sized plotter. I've been using Filofax inserts this year. There are even inserts that look just like the weeks. (If you are interested in pursuing using it the way you prefer). Having said that, I just switched from my plotter to an A5 take a note. I like the Plotter and I'll go back to it at some point when things in my life are more suited to the format. It's just a temporary adjustment. But you do you, no shame in deciding it doesn't work and moving on!

Japanese Bible size is the same size as Filofax Personal. You can use any Personal-size inserts. If there is something you don't like about the Plotter inserts, e.g. stacked weekends -- get different inserts. Raymay Davinci has several choices for Bible size monthly and weekly inserts -- monthlies with a column for every day (no stacked weekends). Both JetPens and Yoseka Stationery in the U.S. carry Raymay Davinci inserts -- Yoseka Stationery has a larger selection

Why don’t you use Hobo inches memo pads in weekly size?
@seemownay10 ай бұрын
I currently don't need them. And I find them that tiny sliver too narrow.
@Motherofonly1 Жыл бұрын
You need a weeks size Day Free for your narrow Plotter.😂

I think for your case the bullet journal method would really help start with a blank notebook and make it your own change it every week keep what you want and discard whats not working these whole planners are not working for me either I like some things from the hobonichi which I am going to take over into my bullet journal method next year and some things are useless like why cant I just have more paper so maybe try it plus it will give you a place to put your stickers and photos and its totally customizable to your needs as you go instead of having a pre planned thing that you have to either stick to or throw out or give away :) Hope that helps take care
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think you are probably right. I just don't want to invest the time to make monthlies and date things. Even if I kept it minimal, it still takes time that I don't want to invest.
@MissMarilynDarling Жыл бұрын
@@seemownay you have already invested so much time researching the books I had the hobonichi for a year and it's great if you have minimal amount to say but I like to blather on about whatever pops into my head and I like to try out new layouts and it doesn't have to be intricate 4 lines cross 2 pages and you have 8 spaces for a week a minimalist way is usually the best
@Sinead3rd Жыл бұрын
What if…you kept using the weeks for the weekly pages you love so much and filled the bible plotter with only blank/grid/lined pages that you can move around for thoughts and lists? Yes you wouldn’t be using the weeks’ back pages that much then, but you would solve the problem of it being a bound book…Idk just a thought! Also have you ever tried vertical weeklies for to do lists? I came across A5 vertical ones from Filofax by complete chance and I LOVE them, even though I could never make the same use of the Hobonichi vertical pages in the cousin. …also Filofax paper is fountain pen friendly, just saying!! 😇
@seemownay Жыл бұрын
That is a great idea. I didn't think of it at the time, and it would also spread out my planning into two books. That's something I would like to prevent.
@muallaemine Жыл бұрын
You're not luxurious? 🤔 Well let's see: we are all using probably the most luxurious and also the most expensive form of writing: fountain pens. We also use the most luxurious and most expensive form of inks to write: think of all the inks you just used on 30 inks september. We also use the most luxurious papers out there: gotta be FP friendly so personally mainly TR for me but there are many more out there. We actually like the Hobonichi planners and all those who have good quality papers and they ain't the cheapest in any sense of the word... so my friend it seems to me that you are pretty luxe in your choices; at least when it comes to stationery 😊. And there is nothing wrong with that. We're all a bit nutsy when it comes to our writing and planning/journaling needs 😁 I like having a few systems in place and ready to go when I need them or when I feel like them. I made the mistake of letting go many things like your plotter and then wanted them again. And so I had to buy them again 🙄. I like using 1 planner at a time, and I can stick with whatever system I have for a long time. But as soon as it doesn't work for me, I have to make a change very quickly. Whatever I use has to work for me. Otherwise it doesn't matter how beautiful or how expensive etc it is, it just doesn't function for me. Over the years I've learned that I don't need to give away or sell everything that I don't use at the moment. For some of them, it just makes sense to keep for a while and see if I get the itch to try them out again. Having said that my life is very active in many ways; I live and work between cities all the time; and in the past few years I made many life altering decisions. So some systems are not flexible enough at times, but others are. İt really depends on how much you recognise your needs at the time and also admit that those needs can very well change just when you think you are very comfy and confident within your planning system. So basically I would advise to wait a little unless you are very sure (wich you don't seem to be) of your planning needs
