Paula van den Brink we have nine subjects too, just at GCSE level and then at A Level we do 3 or 4 (some people even do 5 like how 😂) and people usually (not everyone) choose these subjects based on what they need for university

olkapippin Oow okay that makes sense! We don’t really have anything like gcse’s, but we do choose our subjects after 3 years of highschool (So we start off with about 15 subjects and then we choose 8 or 9 subjects for the last 3 years and our exams)

Wrong. Spaced repetition and active recall are the only effective ways to study, you need to split your topics up into subtopics and attack them one by one, colour coding the ones you know well which you then don't repeat for a set amount of time and redo the hardest once which you coloured in red, this means that when you go to revise the topics you don't know will be the ones you do first and therefore, only once you know all the topics you'll recover the topics which you don't know.
@lydiavioleta_5 жыл бұрын
if you already know how to revise & what works for you, why are you here commenting “wrong” on my video???
@xTheCraftyStormx5 жыл бұрын
@@lydiavioleta_ I was looking into how people revise in chunks, e.g. 20m 5m etc to see what was the most popular. I realize that was a little rude but I wanted to grab your attention, your video lacked facts when you easily could have, and you probably should have read some articles which included scientific studies which concluded which ways were the best ways for most people to revise this would mean besides being able to put "scientifically proven" for a click-bait title, you would also know of what you talked about in the video will work for most of your audience. Also a side note, I am a little annoyed by these videos put up by students because when I was doing my GCSE's, I looked at the first video that was recommended by a person who got full 9's and copied there revision strategy when really, I should've been doing what I currently do which is 100% based on scientific research into human physiology.
@lydiavioleta_5 жыл бұрын
The purpose of this video isn’t to list every strategy of revision under the sun, I’m well aware people revise differently, this is just me showing how I personally revise, & it works for me
@xTheCraftyStormx5 жыл бұрын
@@lydiavioleta_ I appreciate that, but you're a channel which is focused around a level and revision, It's surprising that you aren't using proven methods or at least encouraging them. The problem here is that people will see this and then base their revision similar to how you do. Have you tried instead of making a revision time table, making one spreadsheet (google sheets is great) which lists the subjects and the topics you have to cover, so instead of following a routine which you as you said, probably won't stick to, you have a list of things you must do which are colour coded in the order of importance, (most important being what you don't know) so that when you revise, instead of focussing on something you thought or predicted a week in advance what you should do, you do the stuff that required your attention first and recolour code it a few days later after revisiting to see how much you remembered. This obviously then needs when you procrastinate or are busy having Brunch with Elle, and you don't do what you should for that day, the next day you're still focusing on the areas which you don't know.
@lydiavioleta_5 жыл бұрын
Wrong. I’m a channel focused around my life, my life at the moment including a levels. Sometimes I offer advice based on my own experiences & what’s worked for me, but I have never once claimed to be an exhaustive revision resource, able to tell you about every revision method under the sun. As I state in many videos, when I give advice it’s always what’s worked for me. If people want to follow that, then that’s their choice. If they don’t & they want to explore other methods, then that’s also their choice. It’s not my responsibility to tell people how to revise, it’s theirs
