PRODUCTS USED:
Avalon Organics - Clarifying Shampoo - amzn.to/2jRmOSX
Dr. Bronner's Hair Rinse - amzn.to/2IkenKk
Aloe Vera Gel - amzn.to/2Gbx01b
Grapeseed Oil - amzn.to/2IgUlAG
---------
I have officially had my #SemiFreeformLocs for 2 years. Instead of doing a traditional update video I decided to go more abstract and talk about how caring for my locs now is a time for me to slow down and relax and reconnect with myself. I take my time in the shower and try to never rush the process of caring for my hair. I've recently switched shampoos and am enjoying that more than using Dr. Bronner's even though I still use their organic hair rinse to condition my locs. Finally, I try to keep all product usage minimal in my locs to avoid buildup. Currently, for the spring I'm using aloe vera gel and a light oil to seal in moisture.
You can see my entire #LocJourney

Girl, I call your journey "take care of your hair" journey. LOL. I used to just tie my hair, ignore it, wash it once in awhile, and that was it. I'm just now starting to take care of it and moisturize my hair. A few days ago I trim the ends I'm becoming more used to the idea of managing and taking care of my hair more and I'm happy with it. So your journey is fine, your journey is great, your journey is your journey. I love your peaceful serene personality you are not rushed, you are in the moment, and you don't seem like the person that dwells too much in the past, which is great. Your journey is yours own it. Stay blessed. God bless. 😊🤗

I found the Jason's sulfur shampoo thanks to you and that does wonders for my scalp. Even diluted, it can be a little thick, though. So I follow up with mane choice hydrating shampoo (diluted), which has a great lather that removes any residue left from the Jason's or the scalp fragments it knocks loose. I LOVE your locs! I'd call them semi-free form (I know some folks hate that terms). But you're maintaining parts and cultivating a certain look without twisting/palm rolling/interlocking.

I might give it a spin for a few months just to see if it actually affects the shape. My locs already loc pretty tightly though so I'm hesitant to do anything that could make the hair tangle up even tighter (which is why buildup is something I'm often considering).

How would you deal with your locs if you swam 3-4 times a week? Wearing a swimming cap but hair getting a little wet .
@hallease
@hallease 6 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, that’s tough I would definitely at least rinse my hair but not shampoo to get any small bits of chlorine out. I already do that now with my workout regimen, I shampoo once or twice a week but if I work out that day I’ll always at least rinse my hair with water. I also find that doubles to help maintain good moisture in my locs as well.

Thanks for answering! I've been toying with the idea of getting locs but swimming is my main physical activity and I live in Normandy and the water is very hard here. Just not sure all of this is compatible with maintaining locs.
