Kyle, at the 300 yard mark onwards, the organisers of the sport should have a 2 inch rope laying along the edge of the grid , that way the ball can bump off the rope when rolling & stay in play, no one wants to see a 380 ball beat a 430 ball that rolled just outside the grid ! It’s the world long drive comp, we want the longest hitters to win! 👍🙏 Great work !

You know there are 2 things: 1) I agree about the hills on the grid; I mean the long drivers already don't hit straight balls and then you throw some hills in the mix and a bad bounce kills it for you. 2) why aren't these competitions aired or promoted? Well done Kyle. All your hardwork rewarded. Agree with your comments re the grid. Its ridiculous you could hit a winning drive and lose due to a mountain in the grid. Love the fact you won and have the highest numbers while having the most technically sound/traditional swing. Not to knock the other guys but as a golfer/purist, some of those swings are awkward to watch.

Kyle, I saw the telecast but it was nice to hear your thoughts on your road to victory. I was an extremely exciting set of matches and almost seemed scripted for last minute heroics time after time on your part. They should have given you a bonus for compelling theatre on top of competitive excellence 🙂 The wonky hill did no credit to the sense of legitimacy of the competition and should not have been left there as you rightly point out. It would have been somewhat tragic for it to have figured heavily in the final outcome but that fortunately was not the case and IMO the right man won, after facing down some heavy competition. You have definitely etched your name decisively in the annals of long drive and deservedly so. Congratulations! Cheers.

Good point about the hills on the fairway. Yeah, LD is related to golf so an argument can be made that it is still part of golf. But the difference is that you want to win based on your club head speed and ball speed, and your ability to hit a fairway. But having it roll off to the side at almost a 90 degree angle is a major blunder.

A hill right in the middle of the grid at the sweet spot most balls right down the middle would hit and it took what would be a flat roll well beyond 400 just thuds into the hill at 398 or whatever haha

Kyle, I noticed something you should definitely work on, in my opinion. I see that whenever you hit a bad shot, your pres-wing includes a huge liftoff with your right heel. You take your foot all the way up so only the tip of your toe is touching the ground. nearly a small jump. I understand that this is a rythmic setup, but I noticed when you hit that 6th shot in the first set of the video, you didnt do that to the same extent. Your foundation looked more stable and secure. The ball followed a better line. I think you could benefit a lot from keeping your foundation more solid. The variable you enter to the equation when you nearly jump with your right foot pre-swing, could be breaking your repeatability, your consistency to hit the ball straight and on field. Do you have any thoughts on this yourself? Is this something you do work on, or is the technique you use something you want to keep doing, as it generates that smooth rythm for you to follow? I would love to hear your thoughts on this! Great win, congratulations, you are truly amazing at this.

Question for any long driver out there: If you are on your 4th shot and going second in rotation and the 1st player didn't even get one in the grid, do you just punt it out there enough like 200yds and call it the match or go for it ???
