Wanted to say something very quick as someone brought it up in the comments. There is no singular way to present masculinely, this video is simply about my own personal experienced with my own body and my own preferences for myself. All bodies are beautiful all masc bodies are beautiful and badass. If you were offended despite my efforts to be clear in this video that all of this is very individualized to myself, I do sincerely apologize, I will try to be more clear in the future. Love you guys and hope you enjoyed the video regardless!

No need to apologize to people with low to zero comprehension. Everyone loves to be offended these days. Heck, people even get offended for other people who don’t even care. Stop apologizing when you know you did nothing wrong. You can’t please everyone and that is okay as long as you’re not doing anything that harm others. Let them misunderstand you. Let them misinterpret you. Let them cancel you. Because your real followers who knows you will understand that you’re not the type of person to invalidate other people. You’re a great kid, Mak. Don’t waste your life being apologetic to people who’s main goal in life is to always misunderstand you no matter how good your intentions are.

I feel like workout videos very often focus on just the "working out" part, as in the weight or form or equipment etc. So I really enjoyed hearing about your philosophy behind working out, food and nutrition, and the chat at the end about setting healthy goals! these things are so important so thank you so much for chatting about them :)

I also used to get elbow pain during triceps exercises so if anyone needs help: try wearing an elbow sleeve (or two if you get pain in both elbows) during your workout and/or start with very light weight and more reps, doing it slowww. Sooner or later you should be able to work your triceps without a sleeve and without pain :)

Thank you for this, Mak. It was so lovely. I used to workout a lot and be very healthy, but then I was put on medication for my depression and anxiety, and it made me gain so much weight. Even after I got taken off of the meds, I had some traumatic stuff happen and don't wanna trauma dump but after that it's just been so difficult getting back into working out and being healthy. If you have any tips for that or smthn that could help, please share!! Would mean so much. Love you!!
@Makingemi

i’m sorry to hear that trauma affected your ability to enjoy movement 😞 start small! if you’re able to, waking for 5 or 10 minutes is a great start, especially outside to get some fresh air! try to fight the ideology that moving and taking care of your body needs to be a big huge workout or routine. you can lay on the ground and just stretch out into a giant snow angel lol, so many things are good movement for our body. be kind to yourself above everything else. give yourself the patience you would give to your best friend if they were in this situation :) sending you so much love 🫂

hey, just wanted to let you know that i have been through something similar and that it does get better:) my meds made me gain weight and sleep a lot more, i couldn't workout cause my mental health got really bad and i used to love moving my body. i started working out again recently, i started small tho, like maybe doing a 10 min ab workout at home, or going on walks with my dog. it did help a lot:) so don't be hard on yourself and surround yourself with people who genuinely care for you:) just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. sending you lots of love:)💗💗

This is the type of content you make I like the most. I think I watched all your videos about working out and sports. I also love your outfit videos on tiktok, but those are quick inspiration, this is very interesting food for thoughts. For me, going to the gym started making sense when I also started bouldering. During the lockdowns gyms were closed here so I got into running. Now I dedicate my gym workouts to train in order to be a better runner and climber. Game changer! I realized I need actual goals to give my 100% in my workout (for example, a race, or I want to climb a certain grade). The aesthetics is just a nice “side effect”.

This video make me feel so jealous that you're able to keep up with a workout routine. I had wrist surgery at the end of January and sat on my ass for a month because I couldn't work and couldn't do much with my right arm. Now that I'm back at work I'm slowly gaining strength back but I'm so tired and sore so I can't even begin to think about weight lifting like I used to. I miss the days when I used to feel pumped after a workout and take pics of my abs and shoulders in the bathroom mirror 🥺 I should've done abs when I was sitting on my ass for a month

@@electriclilies2642 I'm doing occupational therapy for my wrist right now. Trying to get full range of motion back. I'm slowly getting back into my routine, but what I should really do is do some band exercises for my back to start strengthening the stabilizing muscles I know are really weak, cause that's always been a problem for me anyways. I know what I've gotta do, just hard to do it ya know.

When I see a fit woman I always feel like she’s judging me. Which is stupid, especially because I’m not exactly out of shape (especially my arms, my arms are nice) but I just feel like if a girl is more fit than me they judge me. Which has come from a lot of people ACTUALLY judging me. I had to drop a gym class because of it once. I have a lot of people be like “wait… you work out?” And they do it so disrespectful with like a sarcastic laugh and an eyebrow raise while looking me up and down… it just makes me mad. I really want to find some people who will help me to feel confident about working out, because right now I’m scared to go to a gym in fear that I’ll encounter people that will do that again so I currently only work out at home. I know I “shouldn’t care what they think” but like, it’s hard. That was actually the only think I liked about going to a catholic school for one year - they were REALLY nice in gym and no one judged me for my body. I was friends with all the female athletes and I’d work out with them in gym and play volleyball with them and no one cared that I was a little fatter than them. I had finally regained my confidence when I went back to public school and I decided I’d do strength training and I had like 2 or 3 girls just make fun of me or put me down essentially like “haha, look at this fatty trying to work out”. So I dropped the class. And I stopped working out for like a year and a half. Oh, and my mom does it, but I’m used to her being a jerk to me. Now I’m finally working out at home again (in secret so my mom doesn’t make fun) and I’m scared that when I go to college and I get a gym membership that the people will make fun of me again. You know, I don’t think anyone will ever read this, but just typing this all out really helped me figure that out. I didn’t put my feelings to words up until now. So. That’s nice

you're clearly very strong based on the weight you were curling but if you want to build muscle (rather than just strength) you have to be eating in a caloric surplus while training for hypertrophy. you can do this slowly over time by gradually raising your calories, or you could just jump right into a true bulk for quicker results. basically you won't get big biceps by just lifting, you have to eat a lot as well.
