Got my internships revoked during college due to covid and now that I've graduated, most internships don't accept new grads nor do most entry level jobs without relevant experience. Definetely keep applying during undergrad so you don't get stuck in limbo like me. Edit: I did end up getting hired after about a year. I applied to many places within a 12 hour car ride away from where i was currently staying. Also kept working on personal projects, doing certs, practicing interviewing, etc. Unemployment being low definetely helped since less ppl looking for jobs and the cascade of higher level employees applying for lower level jobs seems to have slowed down or stopped. However, the ratio of positions being canceled was still relatively high (1/4jobs)

This is a good video; however I will be careful with the courses you suggested. I’m also a mechanical Eng., by trade and I have over 7 years of experience and I have never ever touched any of those subjects on my work. I’m a modeling and simulations Eng. so for me the most important subjects are computer science, calculus, linear algebra, PDE’s, numerical methods, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, controls. Courses you didn’t mentioned. The beauty of mechanical Eng. Is that you can work in any field; hence I don’t think that making a video only focusing on design provides a good example. I wouldn’t be surprised if most mechE work on fields other than design. Cheers

Lol I saw half of those coding videos and watched maybe half of them. They say the same thing to just learn on your own and make your own projects then proceed to give a complicated ass project for your FIRST project. As a beginner. Many of them also state they wouldn’t go to college if they had to do it all over again. But man I Just learned today that I despise coding. And that it’s just simply not for me. How can aluminum be 1/3 the density of steel, when steel is 2.5x denser than aluminum? 1/2.5 = 0.4, not 0.33 ?? (I'm assuming you mean density and not "weight" because weight is a force acting on an object due to it's mass, not a property of said object, and we should be defining equal volumes for this comparison to be useful, I know you know this but it's an important distinction that should be stated explicitly)

Do you recommend taking fewer notes and moving on to the homework so that I can move past topics quicker while also learning them effectively? Also, I know you said marks do not really matter, but if I plan on getting my masters(maybe in the states), do I need higher marks than a 70 average?

Bro- Computer Engineering do not study these. He's talking about Mechanical engineering. I am almost graduating in my CpE degree and what you should be learning is not in this video. Learn about electronics, programming Python and C++, Networking (CCNA), and control systems.

Generally aim for a 3.0 GPA (B average or 80%) and above for graduate school and getting jobs at the bigger companies straight out of college

waitt this is more about the concepts, as opposed to the process. my question is: which basics are important to learn, to then undestand the concepts you described in the video?

the subjects I talked about are important to learn. When u say process, what exactly r u referring to or looking for?

@@TamerShaheen like which parts of core classes are most important/applicable to actual work. ex: x calculus concept is used in y process (that is super applicable), but z calculus concept is not used 90% of the time. but across the different core engineering subjects
