Got my internships revoked during college due to covid and now that I've graduated, most internships don't accept new grads nor do most entry level jobs without relevant experience. Definetely keep applying during undergrad so you don't get stuck in limbo like me. Edit: I did end up getting hired after about a year. I applied to many places within a 12 hour car ride away from where i was currently staying. Also kept working on personal projects, doing certs, practicing interviewing, etc. Unemployment being low definetely helped since less ppl looking for jobs and the cascade of higher level employees applying for lower level jobs seems to have slowed down or stopped. However, the ratio of positions being canceled was still relatively high (1/4jobs)

This is a good video; however I will be careful with the courses you suggested. I’m also a mechanical Eng., by trade and I have over 7 years of experience and I have never ever touched any of those subjects on my work. I’m a modeling and simulations Eng. so for me the most important subjects are computer science, calculus, linear algebra, PDE’s, numerical methods, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, controls. Courses you didn’t mentioned. The beauty of mechanical Eng. Is that you can work in any field; hence I don’t think that making a video only focusing on design provides a good example. I wouldn’t be surprised if most mechE work on fields other than design. Cheers
