A lot of the jobs I see in cyber security require a bachelor's degree. Would you say it's still work pursuing if you don't have one?

Yes, get a bachelor's in computer engineering/ science, even if someone tells you that you don't need one. It will help you with deep knowledge of how computer related stuff works and it's always nice to have it on your CV and will surely set you apart from all others trying to get a job in cyber-security.
