Hi Michael Jr. I’m an old grandma and I have to tell you how much I appreciate your humor you make me laugh without nasty words or jokes. As far as meat I’m not sure if you’re trying not to eat meat for awhile or give it up. I couldn’t give up meat, but once in awhile we’ll have just a salad or veggies. Thank you for your comedy.

This "how to" series was a lot of fun. I like to learn behind the scenes details of pretty much any field, but learning how you come up with and test out new comedy material is especially interesting and entertaining. Thank you for all you do!

Just finished watching the six part series over two days. Watch the first five last night and needed to call it a night. This was very interesting. Never thought about calling people on the phone to flesh out a premise. I’ve only been doing Open Mic since November, and I’ve been writing a lease an hour a day for a week or two, and try out a few bits on a few people, but hadn’t thought about the idea of a phone call. Definitely food for thought. No pun intended. Thanks for the tips.

It takes courage to share the process of creating anything especially comedy. It’s rarely funny when figuring it out but your videos were helpful and entertaining. As a writer (not necessarily comedy), the tie in at the end parallels what many creatives need to do; include a theme or purpose without being preachy. Thanks again and good luck 🍀

Great stuff, MJ! Very helpful. As a comedy writer myself, I’m curious to know how you organize and store for retrieval the jokes you write. I’m looking for a method to do it without using computers. I don’t trust computers not to break down and I’ve lost stuff in the cloud so I don’t rely on it. Besides, ALL of the successful pre-computer comedians did it without computers. The real OGs! Any suggestions? God bless and Write on! Amy’Son says love you…bro!

Love the whole series. Fun to watch the brainstorming. When you talk about conflict between veggie people & meat people, you could probably do something around getting them together for a picnic. We’re only gonna serve bread. It’s the only safe food group. That’s why it’s the base of the food pyramid. We can all agree sandwiches are great, right? It’s bring your own ingredients. The contents are all you. That’s how I’d throw a picnic. That’s how Jesus did it. He didn’t want any part of this argument. Heard of “breaking bread”? Can you imagine the Holy War if Jesus handed out hotdogs… Jesus know what’s up! Something like that maybe

Just recently i heard a pastor say that people tell him he should be a vegetarian...that it will bring him closer to God. And he tells them Do you know what happened to the vegetarians in Noahs time? They drowned in the flood! He then says...i need me some meat

Hi Michael, I found this series very helpful. Thanks for these videos. I have information that you can use for your material. Perhaps not everyone knows that people were all vegetarians before Noah's flood. In Genesis 9, the Lord gives mankind permission to eat meat.
@brothertonyo23 Жыл бұрын
Nice thought process... but... I submit for your further consideration: the people who died had totally rejected God and His authority. The only ones who needed that permission were the obedient ones and they made it through the flood. What do you think? One other (possibly related) note: lives got a lot shorter. #BTO23

Michael Jr, you wrapped-up this series (this excellent series) by talking about conflict and, in particular, insight (5:16). But while you were going through the steps of developing the vegetarian/vegan vs meatian conflict, the thought was inescapable: when is Michael Jr going to talk to a vegetarian? Better yet, an evangelistic vegan? Or even just someone who broke up with meat after getting hurt?

Outstanding video series. I've loved it, and have been looking for this for a long time. The next video should be, what do your actual notes/writing lol like? How are YOU physically writing, too? Awesome stuff, and I did LOL several times. 🤪

I think your process was right on time like the impossible burger when I went vegetarian for like 5 min. I was looking for joke writing videos. Super grateful you delivered. If you ever have stand-up mentoring opportunities sign me up! I’ll be happy to beta-test your comedy coaching before it goes out of budget. 😂
