Well said. The Ronin definitely made a big splash, but it came out at a time when TMNT as a franchise was already starting to boom again. I think the largest contributor was the toy collector scene, mostly NECA, but that mixed with the Ronin, and the mysterious talks about upcoming movies really got everyone talking about Turtles again

@brendansrambles9464 I def agree that the action figure scene is really what brought the hype back to TMNT. I feel like action figures are the core of almost every fandom from the 80's and early 90's.

I think the biggest contributor to the TMNT resurgence is the collector boom during covid. Companies seen money to be made and jumped on the property. The Last Ronin is cool, but I doubt the majority of Turtle fans have read the entire thing.

@wildnight8776 oh for sure not just for TMNT but for everything. The comic market was absolutely ridiculous during that time. Based off the success of this video, I would say you are right with that last statement haha.

I really enjoyed the first issue of the Last Ronin. I even went out and hunted down several of the variant editions which was a lot of fun as a comic collector. But as the story went on, I feel like it kinda fell flat and just didn't do anything for me personally... HOWEVER... I think the Last Ronin has done wonders for TMNT. First off, it sold a ton of issues and got people interested in TMNT. That's a good thing no matter what. But the important thing for me is that the design of the character kicks ass. I may not love the Last Ronin comic series but I think the character looks badass and it's a part of TMNT lore, so I'd gladly buy a statue or OMG if Mezco would make a Last Ronin I'd be all over it. And the best part is that with the Last Ronin, you could buy one figure and be done. No more having to buy all 4 turtles to get a set.

@joshmv I'm with you on the story starting a lot stronger than it ended. The first issue is far and away the best. But you are dead on the one thing it absolutely did do was give us one of the coolest designed figures ever. I would love to see Mezco do one as well but my anxiety is already through the roof waiting on the Casey situation so one problem at at time haha.

Last Ronin was a great, fresh take on the turtles. Really enjoyed the story & of course the figures that followed

@MrSampson795 it definitely was a nice change of pace. The first issue especially I could read over and over. And of course the action figures are the best thing of all!

Last Ronin is great. I hope we keep getting more from The Last Ronin and I'm really excited for the game.

@eddiemorales7450 we'll definitely get more it's doing well for IDW. Volume 2 should be out this fall. I just can't wait to get an actual first look at the game. I don't want to get my hopes too high but if I haven't gotten a PS5 or Series X by then, it might be what does it for me.

It kinda ended in a lame way. It’s like I thought Mikey was gonna be kinda this veteran ninja who trained for this revenge. Then just like the first issue he lands hard and fails.

@briarshinn I definitely get what you mean. It just started so hype with the first issue and kind of got less and less exciting with each issue. I think I've actually talked about this with you, it was just a bit rushed and didn't get enough development. Like I was talking about with @joshmv the best thing it really gave us was an insanely cool character design.

TMNT was sort of dead in the late 2000's... Was this last ronin like late 2000's and early 2010's?

@Leny1777 I think the first issue came out Fall/Winter of 2020.

@@noyougrowup69 Yeah 2020 was when tmnt came back strong! Stronger than the 90s in my opinion. But not as strong as late 80s tough.
