Wow. That 1:00:00 mark was a gem... strive to be the "Middle Class Artist". Can definitely be financially independent, still live comfortably and drop music when you want to without the pressures/stresses/demands of a Hollywood lifestyle. Being yourself and being self-reliant/resourceful is key!

When it comes to collaboration with the contemporary artists, Kanye worked with Takashi for the Graduation cover and he worked with Kaws for the 808s cover and worked with George Condo for the MBDTF cover and that allowed him to tap into their audiences. Ye is really the true blueprint for this, at least in hip hop anyway.

Hey UnitedMasters,as a small creator I think its pretty scummy of you guys to use free youtube music in your production then try and copyright other users for using the same music. Travis was touring with Kanye back in 2012 so there is also that... Edit: but altogether they are speaking facts. Don't get me wrong. The collaborating with other artists (visual artists etc.) will definitely broaden your reach. Whether you need money for that or not is on a per person basis I suppose. But always remember to invest in yourself.

When did Travis Scott become independent!!! Serious question 🙋♀️ 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐

I am asking the same question. Why would you use a mega super start like Travis Scott for a discussion about independent artists knowing independent artists cannot possibly execute anything like this without having major capita/connections?
@davemelhado2 жыл бұрын
At the time we did the webinar, i wanted to contrast how an independent artist could create a major label style rollout. The purpose is to show tactics and hopefully unlock a way of thinking that leads artists to be resourceful.

Dear God who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May all suffering end as we give thanks this day. May God's face shine upon us forever on Earth as it is in Heaven in Jesus Christ's name we pray for His name and for His sake. Amen.

I am totally not understanding why you're using Travis Scott as a subject for this when the average independent artist can't afford any of these things that Travis has access to. There are mainstream artists that can't afford the things that Travis has access to. We all know this industry is mostly built on capital and who you know. It doesn't matter how amazing my rollout is, if I don't have either of those to include then it will virtually go unnoticed. The only thing I could possibly get out of this is learning what to do and how to leverage any opportunities in the event my brand were to reach that level of meteoric success. Why not use artists like Tobe Nwigwe? He was played before this discussion was even started. He is independent and was able to establish a great brand using the resources that were around him.
