No matter how people look at it chinese have really done tremendous progress and made there country a great economic power. What he is aying is true. If you don't beleive see the travel vlogs of Indians who went there there cities really look like a first world cities. India and Indians need to work really hard to achive what China has done. In India I see we become lazy after small successes but if we want to compete with China we really need to make a lot of progress. Even though they are causing trouble on borders and things are not normal between us. We should really learn from them and implements things what they have done to make progress. Specially Cities like shenzeng should also be in India. People talk about Xinjinag and how Chinese treat them but ever look at the cities in Xinjiang they are like first world cities.

Manufacturing is not that easy in India because of heavy political and bureaucratic interference...laws are not streamlined also...service oriented business is easy because most of the things run on the files, papers and computers and have less bottlenecks...whereas in Manufacturing, even tiny political parties can create various labour, raw material and logistics hindrances if not paid well...this effects heavily in the profitability of the manufacturing business...

I saw British left behind all of her flaws in the Indian system she left behind. There must have been something truly Indian before the colonization. The mindset, the collective characteristics of people. Today I saw India better or worse an extension of the Anglo world. This is not a compliment. The intelligentsia and upper class of India are fully compatible with the Western world. This made them able to rise to prominence in the West. That does little to help India as a country. China is a tyrannical dictatorship sure. But also it made it incredibly easy to centralize resources and organize into high efficiency. Industrialization is cruel. There were no human rights in Victorian Britain. Life was equally harsh in US at the turn of 19 century. Like it or not, getting population under control is another necessity. With increased AI and automation, much of the billion people are structural redundant to economic production.

This clip is also popular in China internet. It is rarely to see such honest conversation from an Indian. Industrialization is the code. China completed the heavy industry construction in the first 30years after the state founding(thanks to souviet union's help); and introduced foreign investment after 1978, to accumalte the wealth and cultivate the culture of engineering. And now we are on the next journey to conquer high techs and high value-added industries. Troughout the development of China, the goverment's role is critical, like acquire land , invest in the infrastructure like port, highway,power supply, , and sometime lead the direction for industry investment(like semi-conductor). The speed of all the actions are really fast because the government capability is strong. The capability comes from china's political tradition(centralizition of authority since Qin Dynasty, 2000years ago), and the complete revolution to the country from 1949 to 1956. India is the world's largest democratic country but sometime democracy is a curse to the developing country just because it is hard to forge consensus. Time has been wasted for meaningless ideology arguments.

While we need to learn from their development, the interviewer needs to understand that most of their huge infra projects are economically not feasible. They raked up huge debt which is now biting back their extravagance. Good thing with India is that Government has no money to waste. Private companies only invest when returns are good. So on return on investment perspective, India is better than China. Hence Indian model is better for long-term sustainability. We can't judge based on just last 50 years track record about a nation. His views will change 180 degrees in next 50 years, when he sees India progress and China decline.
