India has been on a mission to transform itself into a high-tech manufacturing hub for products from smartphones to semiconductors. New Delhi has managed to woo some of the world's biggest tech companies, such as Apple and Micron, to ramp up operations in the country as these firms look to diversify away from China. But can India take China's crown as Asia's most critical tech hub?

India is so populated and having serious corruption even India hasnt entered the real phase of industrilization of any global significance. However, you wont miss western media hyping about India potential and Indians's own self congratulating of only a few achievements here & there without reporting the backwardness which definitely needed improvement and time to progress, if it ever took off. In addition, the pace and competency havent shown much too. Furthermore, even with India's higher growth rate than China today, in reality the gap is actually getting bigger and not smaller. Why? Bcoz China developent status and economy are 500% or 600% larger/more advanced! Guess such news are seldom emphazised or reported too. According to US Statistics Division of manufacturing output by country, China's overall manufacturing output is larger than US, Japan, Germany and India combined. Hence, is India actually joking or bragging about itself, worst without all the basic and efficient infrastructures in place.😂

This speaker is not an expert, but a low pay information gatherer who has done a pretty bad job.😆 There is no way to have a fully independent chip manufacture in India, not even in USA or Europe. Does he know how much electricity is require to run a chip factory? Once the machine is on, it will used more electricty than the consumption of any state in India. Secondly, does he know the amount of pure water thats required? Wherever the factory is situated, the local goverment needs to build a water dam first. Electricity and water is needed non stop 24 hours/ 365 days, year after year. Its just too hard for Indian government, both at local and national level.
@merrick6484
@merrick6484 17 күн бұрын
Not to mention "Just in Time system" for parts, chemicals and engineers that need to be there from different parts of the world, as the factory requires without delay. Indians government, stakeholders, citizens, tracfic departments, immigrations and border customs need to understand they can not slow down any of the procedures, not even during an earthquake. The parts, electricity, water, foreign engineers and raw materials can not be delay or stop. No excuses, no errors is allowed. If you have ever visited India, then you know, its too hard for this syncronisation within Indian society. Just the port customs will ruin the operation.

Ask any traveller who has travelled to Dhuravi, Mumbai vs anything back alley in Shanghai. That'll tell you the answer whether if India is challenging China. Next, compare the industry that India is challenging China in: EV? no. Shipbuilding? no. High Speed rail? no, AI? no. Semiconductor? No. Mobile Phones? No. Solar Panels? No. TikTok-equivalent? No.

@@kooalabeats5388 KZbin was founded by Chad Hurley, Steven Chen, and Jawed Karim, but was eventually bought by Google. The current CEO of Google is not founder of Google nor KZbin. CEOs are just appointed, just like CEO of banks. They work in the company a long time and work their way up. None of these companies you've mentioned are founded by an Indian. They just work there. On the other hand, the founder of multi-billionaire companies: Jack Ma (Alibaba), Pony Ma (Tencent), Morris Chang (TSMC), Zhang Yiming (TikTok), Frank Wang (DJI - largest commercial drone), Jensen Huang (nVidia), Wang Chuanfu (BYD), Robin Zeng (CATL - largest EV battery producer), Liu Chuanzhi & Danny Lui (Lenovo), Lei Jun (Xiaomi), Ren Zhengfei (Huawei - largest 5G provider), and so many more I cannot even list. Just travel to the city of Shenzen alone and you'll find at least 100 top tech global companies that anybody can recognize. We're talking founders, not just employees and executives of a company. You will notice that I did not mention Lisa Hsu (CEO of AMD), because she did not start the company, but just a CEO. On the other hand, AMD did buy out ATI Technologies which was founded by a Chinese Canadian (Robert Ho, in Markham, ON). Most Indians prefer software side (easier), not hardware. On the other hand, you can find Chinese executives and founder in both hardware & software side of things.

Manufacturing is not just high tech, Iphones, Apple or Semi Conductors. So India want to skip low end and mid level items . Garden tools, plumbing, lighting and electrical accessories, sanitary wares, furniture, leather goods, auto parts, stationeries ect ect. I have not yet seen any of these items in my hardware shop that are made in India. What I note these days is that Western media is ramping up "positive" news on India in this election year. This is how US is interfering in the electoral process of India. They still believe that Modi can be Zelinsky of Asia. But the reality is Modi is just pretending to be more hawkish to China than he really is so that the West ignore India violation of human rights against minorities Muslims and others.

US just need India to fight a war with China and not helping to create another peer competitor which will be 100x more arrogant, narcissistic and jingoistic. Despite its current backwardness, India's attitude and actions have shown so.
