How Infection Control works

Bacteria and other microorganisms reside all over our bodies. As scientists or doctors working in high-pressure laboratory and hospital settings, you need to be very aware of the types of microbes present on your own body, in the environment, as well as how to prevent them from contaminating your work and infecting immune-compromised individuals. We will walk through three key concepts - the normal flora of the human body, disinfection vs sterilisation, and the most common infection control measures used in healthcare settings.
