uefa cup was a proper tournament years ago , only the league winners went in the European cup so was a harder tournament than the European cup to win

England had Some great teams around this time aston villa, forrest, liverpool & ipswich. Whereas spurs Although a decent team they just couldnt touch the heady heights of those big 4 in the league at least But still they had Fa cups & the 1984 uefa cup to look forward to. & Were brilliant to watch .

This is why I hate when fans mock the Europa League, it's one of the most prestigious trophies in football

Plastic glory hunters who don't even value their own glory as they change teams if their current team don't win anything. The UEFA Cup (now Europa League) has always been a prestigious and glamorous competition with many champions league clubs also having won the UEFA Cup before.

@bazza-e9t25 күн бұрын
@@johnou.k.3780 No I know all about Osborne, he did play for Ipswich after the 78 final but hardly at all. Allan Hunter too. But Beattie's last ever game for Town was the Man City 81 FA Cup semi where he broke his arm.

Days when loyal footballers played for the badge firstly & not a care for the money who played on with knocks & niggles Unfortunately mega money has killed this type of footballer virtually out of existence . Which makes a player like cole palmer a diamond in the rough . A complete throwback & joy to watch

Robson gets a knighthood . Paisley 74 - 83 .... 9 years as manager of Liverpool . 6 League Titles , 3 European Cups , 1 Uefa Cup , 3 League Cups , The first British manager to RETAIN the European Cup . And STILL the only British manager to win THREE European Trophies on the run . Where was Bob Paisley's knighthood ???
