Helmets should be the one thing completely up to the drivers to choose how they look. With NO advertising or sponsorships on them.

It's so cool that Lando draws inspiration from MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi. Max has some cool ones as well throughout the season. I don't really like Russell's one there... or Albon's. They're a bit... bland.

Is it just me? I can easily identify the helmet designs of Berger, Alesi, the Schumachers, Hill, Frentzen, Villeneuve and even the designs of drivers I did not see driving (that much) like Senna, Mansell, Lauda, Rosberg sen., etc. On the other hand I can’t even describe the helmets of Hamilton and Vettel, for example. Could it be that the helmet design to that time just was clearer and easier to identify?

I think it's just you don't pay attention. Vettel and Hamilton's helmets are one of the easiest ones to identify, especially Seb's, coz he has a singular german flag stripe over his white helmet, donno how you can't identify it, tbh. For Hamilton, it's a little less noticible, but it's relatively easy to pick up coz it's purple (this year) and the design stays the same.

Joanna Xuan Sebastian‘s Helmet designs according to his website: 9 in 2014 White and German flag design in 2015 5 Special Designs in 2016 + Standard helmet 9 designs in 2017 6 designs in 2018 1 design with variations in 2019 I don’t think that too many designs help to identify drivers.

The modern designs are very impressive but also tend to be very fussy, though Vettel's isn't, think I prefer the older more simplistic designs.
