Rode el toro around 7-8 times in the dark. First time at great adventure. By far my favourite ride of all time. It was running really smoothly.

i went on the second day gadv was open, and it was the smoothest its been since 2019~ for me! granted, its my homepark so i go almost every other week, but it still is way smoother than i remember!

I am so glad you posted this deep dive analysis on this particular topic. Given your rapport with Great Adventure, I seriously hope they examine it and focus on the rough patches you pointed out and take them into consideration during their next off-season maintenance of The RULER...El Toro 👍👍👍

It’s not 2006 smooth. But it’ll never be that smooth again unless they retrack the whole ride but I will say for being almost 2 decades old it’s running incredible !!

This is great to hear. I'm looking forward to getting back there in August. My last ride was in 2022, and I stuck with the middle of any given car for a smoother ride, other than my one front row ride. I got 16 laps that day, but it was certainly rough in the turnaround & the turns toward the end. It's surprising to hear that a front row of a car would be rougher than a back row of a car, because most other coasters with 3-row cars will give the roughest ride in the back row. I couldn't handle Magnum's roughness in row 3, but I was fine in row 1 & the front of the back car.

I’m pretty sure it’s always smooth in the beginning of the season because when it runs slower there is less pressure on the track

To me the ride sounded a bit quieter as well. I noticed this when walking past the ride near tango and the restaurant.

Last year it ran pretty badly, I didn’t even enjoy it in the back, but the front was amazing, it’s my favorite coaster for now

I could not get on it opening day. I was literally like a pound too heavy. I am still mad at that ride operater for putting in a half ass effort in getting the lapbar down far enough. But the good news is due to gullbladder surgery I just had, I just dropped about 13 pounds in 10 days lol. So in a few weeks, as long as I don't gain it all back, I will be getting on El Toro. El Toro and Batman are the least fat friendly coasters in the park for sure.

Hopefully I will get to visit El toro , but their is still a minor issue with track but hopefully nothing to worry about

A week or two ago, I saw Six flags Great adventure had a pass add-on where for $10 plus fees, You could get 35% off merchandise for the rest of the year. So upgrading from 15% or 20% that came with the membership. Up to the 35%. But I can't find it on Great adventures website anymore. Do you have any info on this?

What I think happened is people got lazy not maintaining the ride until it was too late.

I rode it last year on a non-wheel seat, which was good. I was there the day it derailed and was about to ride it. Luckily I didn’t 😅

I'm confused when people say sit in the back of a car for a non wheel seat. I know that is true for some coasters for sure, but doesn't El Toro cars have wheels on both the front and back of every car? If not every car, for sure the last car.

Actually yea, if you check it out on wikipedia there is an image (second to last) that shows each car has two sets of wheels

Each car has 3 rows, the middle of these three rows is the “non-wheeled seat”. With El Toro, I personally have found that the back wheeled seats are smoother than the front wheeled seats, but the middle non-wheeled seats are still by far the smoothest

@@ColiwoodStudios It looks like the back wheels might be smaller. that could explain it. I have always sat in front row of each car assuming the wheels were in the back. Def going to sit in the center now :). Thanks!

I can say confidently this year, it’s much smoother than last year. Last year it started out fairly smooth, but got rough pretty quick
