How is Enlisted doing after Merge Update?

Today I'm playing Enlisted once more, since I wanted to see how the game is doing months after the merge update. It is also the first time I'm playing the game via Steam, after it was released on the platform on July 14! Feel free to share your thoughts as well! Note: The mod in Enlisted where you can play with modern weapons/warfare is called "Modern Conflict".

@@Gary_the_soviet_proot If you go to custom games and for example choose to play a Modern Conflict server, you will be have a "download mods" option before joining the actual server, so you don't have to do anything more than that. When it comes to specific mods or/and setting up a modded server...Well, that's another thing and I don't know how that works in Enlisted. But there's plenty of videos on KZbin showing how to download mods on Steam (in general).

This game is so full of cheaters its not even funny. There are so many esp and aimbot cheaters that just openly do it that it's probably a bigger issue than CoD or Apex due to the small community

Feels good when the combined arms happens, like we got planes in the sky, armor in the ground, artillery and infantry. It is chaotic and competitive

When the merge happened it destroyed all the progress I had made (on Xbox one) and got rid of all the weapons I had bought. I was at the point where most of my soldiers had grenades and semi automatic weapons. After losing so much progress and spending weeks outfitting dozens of soldiers with decent equipment and weapons only to have it all disappear I don’t really have a desire to pick it up again

From my point of view it is not PTW, it is a full-fledged Pay to Progress, because the fact of paying does not guarantee you winning, but you can advance faster in the progress of the technological tree (more XP, faster in unlocking the different items), in addition to being able to earn more solver.

After playing a few months I realized 2 things: 1 the game is not pay to win but it has mechanics that make it seem like one. 2 the game is pay to progress but continues to limit some content behind walls of money. I consider this bad because we have different content that could be f2p but are worth a purchase of x dollars. For me, I would love if their profit system was based on customization, because not having access to the coolest skin in the game seems cooler to me than not having access to that mg 42 early or tompsom with 100 bullets that I think is so cool

I literally played Enlisted the first time today. It was 2 matches. I found it very fun & did good in my first match & very well in the second. In the second match, I did get killed by a tank covered by a small house, it confused me, but I brushed it off as the shell penetrating the wood. I overall haven't gotten annoyed and was very chill playing the game. I also was extremely immersed. I say if you're good at adapting, being a newcomer shouldn't be too much of a problem. Even if you aren't, it's still good to have a good challenge so you can learn, unless you rage easily, then maybe don't play as a newbie. I also got hero in both matches at the end, first was 'Dedicated Warrior', second was 'Best Rifleman'.

I played a few hours of Enlisted before the merge, but for some reason back then I didn't really like the game, so I haven't played it. But now, I have gotten back with more than 50 hours and researched tier II at Allies and Axis factions. The game is actually nice and underated. I gave the game a second chance because I was thinking about this other ww2 that got shut off Heroes and Generals.

I just got into the game a couple days ago, and I'm having a blast. It's good, mindless, casual fun. And I really don't think it's PTW because I haven't spent a single dime, but I'm consistently on top of the leaderboards. If you have a competitive FPS background, you'll feel like a god in this game. One tapping people is just satisfying and fun.

I have been playing listed since even before the Pacific map updates before you can play any campaign at random where you literally had only Berlin maps locked to a campaign and Stalingrad and the other original maps in campaigns. probably for the better part of two years I’ve nowhere near as sweaty as the three-year veterans, but I can’t say some of the cool things that you can unlock you’re unable to unlock anymore unless you decide to schill out money, definitely not paid to win Sure some of them are more unique and the skins are really cool looking probably a little bit more historically accurate but from the points system and how you kit out your soldier with perks is very helpful. I wouldn’t take the game very seriously or even as a competitive nature, but as a comment that I had read earlier, not paid to win pay to progress because it can be very very time-consuming and that’s why usually getting premium is recommended so it will make your pain a little bit less, especially if you value your life and time

As somebody that only started playing Enlisted this year, this game is rad af, especially for a free game. I play on ps5 vs cross platform and love it. The difficulty that can be found in playing against pc players should only make you better if you keep at it. Side note to most people STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT GRINDING RESEARCH- If you suck, you don’t need a better gun. If you don’t suck, you don’t need a better gun. Better weapons are a luxury. Quick research ruins a game.

For me, it doesn't really matter that much when it comes to Enlisted, even though I wouldn't mind the grind to be slightly faster :)

About the cheaters. I don't believe I have ever encountered cheaters in enlisted after playing it for over 2 years. Being shot through walls can happen based on the material such as wood, while stone cant be shot through. Some machine guns also fire quick enough that a quick burst coming toward you will kill you and maybe appear as just one round. The amount of cheaters in this game from what I have heard is very very low, some people just call anything that makes them mad cheating. As for insta sniping, the bots can be very accurate sometimes and spot you when an average player often wouldn't, they are constantly being adjusted and the AI is still very much WIP. Other times it may just be an experienced player who like myself can take extremely quick sniper shots out of what seems like no where. I have had many instances where I get very lucky kills where the recipient probably thinks I'm a cheater. As for the tanks turning their turret right at you, the sound design in this game is good enough that you can easily pinpoint enemies. If the commenter was referring to being shot while in a tank yourself, an enemy may have marked you with a special tank mark. The enemy tank will most likely respond to seeing such a mark by turning towards you to try and take a shot. Enlisted is a great game but people throw the word "cheater" around way too much. If anyone has questions about Enlisted please let me know.

Thanks for your comment! Yes, a lot of people nowadays comes to the conclusion that someone is cheating, just because that person is doing well. And as you say, I've rarely encountered cheaters in Enlisted. I've faced more cheaters in BF5 than I've faced cheaters in Enlisted.

@@road_zombie000 Proof? If you shoot the remaining soldier of a tank it kills the tank. So maybe the rest of the crew was shot already, then he killed the commander with an SMG as he poked out of the hatch, giving him a tank kill with an SMG. Most things that seem like cheating have explanations.

If you're worried about the grind, Enlisted recently implemented economic changes that decrease the amount of Silver and Exp needed to get stuffs making the game a lot easier. It was implemented on 14th August 2024. Safe to say the grind is even more faster after the merge considering merge itself reduce the amount of grind for players by default. For the record, I grinded MP40 5 times across 5 different campaigns.

I personally like Enlisted, especially when playing in low BR its huge fun because there isnt much grenade spamming, and planes and Tanks are fairly easy to defeat, but still pretty hard because of the lack of high tier equipment. Imo it feels a lot like WW2 when playing low br. But what I enioy most are custom battles, they are huge fun and what the community has done with mods is insane.

Been playing since open beta. Imo enlisted is not pay to win, but not exactly beginner friendly. You don't have much equipment when you first create an account but all of the best weapons can be unlocked for free. The battlerating system definently helps, new players will not be fighting against high level weapons. There is room for improvements but its much better than the campaigns. As for premium squads, 95% of them are noveltys or sidegrades to what you can obtain for free. The only ones that give a small advantage are paratroopers and armored apcs, though they can be easily countered if the user misplays them. The game is still quite grindy though. Overall Enlisted is in a much better spot than before, but there is still room for improvement. If you're interested in it give the game a try for yourself, it's free after all.

I believe it is. At least I wished that more people gave it a chance. I guess the Squads game mode with AI squads don't appeal to all people and some even get confused believing that the game is "dead" since there's so much AI in the game :)

I absolutely love this game. It's amazing. Yea the p2w sucks, but the standard bolt actions and squads you have access to work just fine. There really is no need to buy anything to have a fun experience. Despite the obvious advantage spending money gives to people with deeper pockets, I still consistently top leaderboards in the BR I and BR II games I play despite not having spent a dime. It really reminds me of Day of Defeat. A very under-rated game.

Came from War Thunder with 6k hours, and no joke the grind on rank 1 felt like late war rank 3 in WT, with rank 2 Enlisted felt like post war rank 4 in WT, it makes no sense for the grind to be this bad

Since I'm new can someone explain to me how I just played Allies BR 1, made sure everyone was BR1 and when I clicked battle it said BR 1 battle. Why did I go up against Germans with MP-40's, an MG-34 and a Panzer 3 n? I made sure all my groups said BR-1?

Enlisted is fantastic and you can play and complete the game casually as a free to play player, but if you enjoy it and play it every day get the battle pass when it resets and 1 year of premium when its on sale (happens multiple times a year)

The gameplay is great. It just currently feels a bit bad to me how unbalanced the matches are. Like only 1/3 matches seem fair atm, and the rest either your or the enemies side is just so much better, that the match is basically already decided. They need to figure out a way to deal with to many people playing one faction for a while. The silver income is also way to low on BR3. Before that it's kinda ok and for BR5 I feel like it'd be ok to be a bit grindy, but BR3 and 4 feel bad. Like I have nearly researched everything in the tech tree now for the germans and haven't finished equipping all my soldiers, how I want them for BR3, after testing all the BR3 weapons.

if you get squad wiped in a match before you spawn you can spot sniper locations by following bullet tracers on the spawn map also you can see where tanks and planes are giving you a great advantage sincerely 2021 player

Few things: the one saying, cheaters are common, lets take in accounts thats bots see things differently than we and that they have a rolling dice when shooting. Another About the veterans destroying the new commers: only the best of the veterans are like that. Most of them have eva or u45n in their name. P2w. Is only certain degree and only as you cant take more veicles, to fight in air and egainst tanks effectively. Paras are strong, and easy birds to shoot down

Tbh the merge is kinda lackluster took a bunch of squads if you didn’t finish certain campaigns or in general and their just gone can’t really play the Brit’s or Italians cus people never got the chance to really equip em I kinda wish they would add more to for Italian squads or British or just new factions in general

This game needs a lot of polish, it's in the same Engine as War Thunder, but WT feels so polished and every vehicle is so different, where as in Enlisted it feels like theres a lot of clunk and every weapon feels bad and weird and like a Peashooter, from sound to animations to everything, it's just off.

Some weapon animations are also just plain broken and have been like this for ages. I own the Gewehr 41 Mauser Premium Squad. The magazine can hold 10 rounds... even if you have 9 shots left, the soldier will press 2 strips of 5 rounds into the gun. It annoys me so much, that I don't play that squad.

matchmaking is fine, since they segregate players with bolt actions, and those with assault rifles. I however do think Enlisted is P2W. I hate that paratroopers are behind a paywall, as they can often win objectives with flank rallies or clearing enemy rallies, when normal ground troops couldn't.

The older campaign premiums used to be a bit op. Now they arent ptw. I have everything researched for Germany, most of ussr and up to tier 3 of usa. Been playing since moscow beta. Game is fun when you aren't getting stomped and the only real player on your team. I hate all the content they removed with the merge some stuff they didnt even mention were going to be removed. Love the game grind every event but i really want a reason to play br 1 or 4 gear because the only meta builds are 2 andm 3 is very very fun due to most of the iconic ww2 gear falling in that category but can either be op or under powerer based on match making. I also love being able to pick what i want to gr8nd for instead of being forced to unlock 4 things i wont even use in a row in the old system. I do miss the authenticity of battles but its a fair trade. Buy premium for a year during the half off sales its like 20 bucks and its worth it. The grind becomes tolerable and the extra slots are even better. I can unlock 2 to 3 pieces of mid to high tier gear after 2 hours of playing each night for a week. I hope more peope find this hidden gem of a game war thunder is fun but lord the grind... plus in enlisted the events are pretty easy to get. Thats what keeps me coming back is the fomo of not getting a cool squad thats more viable and better than the paid version or just as good like the paratroopers. They do need more maps. Im sick of berlin and Normandy for every game havent seen moscow since the merge.

I was wondering what to get enlisted or he’ll let loose. Enlisted is free so I like that and the gameplay wasn’t bad. But hell let loose isn’t free and I’ll have to pay every month but it’s a better game

It really depends on what you prefer. Hell Let Loose is more of a hardcore WW2 shooter compared to Enlisted. If you want some more casual gameplay, then Enlisted might be your choice. Or play both, if you can afford Hell Let Loose :)

Enlisted definitely isn't p2w, i would say that a lot of premium squads are weaker in general; p2 progress definitely. But this game is Play 2 Win as you can get a lot of event squads that are even better than premium/normal like stummel apc aka apc with short 75mm and mg42. Also in my more than a 460 days of play i have never seen a hacker, those guys don't realize power of bots that have just 1/10 chance to hit you

Horse shit game. The teammates sitting back getting 171 kills and five deaths and 0.00000 objective time grinds my gears. They get the most xp. I get 141 kills, 3.2 obj time and more obj defends than him and get fucked over on xp gain for playing the objective and having 20 deaths. We lost and four people on our team had more than 100 kills. The enemy team had about 90 kills at the most and averaged 40.

Premium squads are pay to win squads, the people that say they are filler, are veterans that have every squad available stacked with mgs. so for them premium are filler, but for new players that have to go agaisnt these players armed with only bolties they are totally unfair.

The merge was something that the game needed because splitting the player base into 12 ques was not a good idea and it lead to unbalanced battles as people who were maxed out in a certain campaign could dominate the match. The merge got rid of the campaigns in favor for just the Soviet, Allies, Axis, and japan armies with a new battle rating system. While i enjoyed the merge the only issue i have is the japan army. Every other army has a fleshed out top tier/tier IV or V loadout except japan since japan was originally ment to only fight against the US in the Pacific campaign which was comparably weaker to the Normandy US arsenal. Even prior to the merge, japan was considered to be much weaker than the Pacific US but after the merge the gap is even wider since japan has roughly half the amount of tier IV/V equipment (19 if you count premiums vs the USs 35) it leaves the japan side getting stompped on in most matches.

I think from the gun side of things, Japan can compete (I play nearly only bolt action rifles even in the higher tiers - the open maps in the pacific are an advantage) but the tanks and planes suck hard compared to the US counter parts.

I was looking for game like this for so long and finally found it. After my first game I was in love with this game. The PTW is in war thunder for example because you are paying for batter armor(HP) batter guns,... BUT in this game you can‘t buy gun that shoots for you and one shots everyone without aiming, you can‘t buy immortal soldier so its just about your performace and your play, not about the guns you have or tanks and aircrafts. Vehicles can be destroyed easily so I don't really know any reason to buy premium things except premium account to have faster progress in tech tree if you like but to unlock in tech tree is on start relatively fast in my opinion.

Before the merge premium squads were kinda pay2win. But when they overhauled progression it made it more balanced. My advice for every new player. Stick to BR 2. Never go BR 5 unless you unlock every BR 5 equipment or even grasp parts of the game fully. BR 5 is another beast of its own.

Yes, cheaters are very rare. I believe that people sometimes get confused also when an AI all of a sudden decides to "aim bot" you. Or the fact that you can get shot through some surfaces/cover.

Game is fun but also frustrating and boring at times. Balance is pretty bad with Soviets being too strong especially at BR2/3. I wish Germans would get some love all recent content we got was for real $$$ or copy paste from war thunder like useless Tiger H1. We definitely need more maps, game tries to always put me into Stalingrad matches and they are too monotonous. XP grinding with premium was pretty fast but silver is a huge problem even after over 3k matches I still can't afford to buy and upgrade all vehicles and brand new t20s. There is only game like this one on the market it completely replaced bf and cod for me I just can't stand movement and gunplay of those games anymore. Only with enlisted you can have so many unique weapons that I have never knew existed, shame that 1/3 of them are hidden behind a paywall i don't mind gold orders since they are grindable but premiums are released too often and there are too many of them and you can't even grind them.

I personally like it there arnt as many bots, but holy i wish there was some people...... um how do i put it arnt good they dont build rallys and have 4 kills with 11 squad wipes ( they ARNT BOTS, bots will actually play obj and build rallys) otherwise hit detection has been a little werid the past month but otherwise i really like the game

Both players and bots (Pvp/Pve), since the major game mode in Enlisted is called Squads. That's what you see in the video. Each players are in charge of AI squads. If you for example get downed as a player, you can switch over to one of your AI squad mates. The game mode called Lone Fighters is Pvp only, but is not an official game mode anymore. For example, the Modern Conflict game mode is a mod in Enlisted, making it possible to play with modern weapons. I play that as well in the video. That game mode/mod is Pvp only.

What you saw is a mod in Enlisted (custom game/playlist), where you're able to play with modern weapons. So it is not a premium weapon. I haven't spent a dime in Enlisted (and I never will), but I'm doing well even so.
