that dude who had 6105s for basically hanging on with Marines is the reason why I don’t hang out with Marines anymore. Always someone who takes something out of context, whether it’s a subordinate, peer or higher.

You’re right it wasn’t that long ago. I agree with you 1996 in MCRD as a hat was sometime ago.

My Brother is completing swim week 1st RTBN Bravo CO MCRD PI. He says recruits are peeing themselves, breaking their legs and getting dropped. I’m glad the USMC continues to hold the same warrior standards. I feel my brother’s pain and growth every week he writes me.

This was another good podcast segment. Everyone had something to bring to the discussion table, which made it exceptionally interesting. What held my attention was how to navigate communication. There was a point made about poor and good leadership. What I experienced when in the Marines, some 30 years ago, was a combination of both types. Certain leaders may not see themselves as having certain deficiencies but others will. During my time, subordinates went along with even with certain leaders who everyone knew was not a good one. It is those making decisions, personal responsibility, to even look at themselves. AB, I wish you the best in your transition to civilian life. I also had certain priorities that I needed to fulfill and I found that I wasn't going fulfill them in the Marines. I completed my degree & had a very good career in the legal field. Jasmine keeps growing, don't limit yourself in any way. Grow mentally and keep your resourcefulness kicked in. Albert & Barry, it was another good discussion 👍👍👍

I wished Abe would scream from the rooftops that everyone should join the military for a min of 4yrs!!!! I’ve been telling my son this and trying to get him to understand the benefits of being in the military but I’m his mother so what do I know 😂 he tends to listen to others…

Wow. I’m glad I was an 03, I’ve heard so many examples of Marines from other MOS’s getting paperwork or NJPs for the DUMBEST stuff.

I think it might be because 03’s do stupid shit EVERY weekend so these small things aren’t as big of a deal.

General Friedrich Von Steuben taught the Continental Army drill and ceremony and tactics. He did it after watching how unprofessional and undisciplined they were. He brought the lessons that he learned from the Prussian Army and the Seven Years War. He changed the Continental Army into a professional fighting force and wrote the Army manuals which continue to influence the modern US Army.
