It's all on contract. We have a choice of a few varieties that they supply. Nice thing is the contact is for the acres not the production. We can't over or under produce.

Growing up we always had 160 acres in corn. Whenever you set or reset your combine, new beater bars etc., the first thing you do is you walk behind it. You're looking for many things. You don't just make a change and keep going. I've never seen it done that way.

I just got a 7200 vacuum planter that I'm working on for this spring. Any thoughts on setting it up for sweet corn seed? I've been using a 4 row 7000 finger pickup and finally got it dialed in. I wanted to run it through the 7200 to get fertilizer and rootworm protection for the sweet corn. Also, any thoughts on figuring out if the hex shaft needs to be pulled? thanks.

Chain drive? We've had hydraulic drive and now electric for a long time. Make sure you don't have any slop in the chains and sprockets. The @precisionplanting website has some good resources for going through your planter. www.precisionplanting.com/agronomy/research/your-planter-maintenance-guide
