Billie needed a song for her dance competition bc her teacher asked them to make a song (bc she knew they both were writing songs) so Finneas gave her the lyrics and she decided the production for that song.. at that time .. her fav singer was Aurora and her fav song was Runaway and she wanted a production similar to that song and Finneas and her made the composition together bc that song needed to be perfect for contemporary dance and she also did the dance music video with the choreography with other dancers and it’s here on KZbin too! Many forget the real story!😅

It would be cool if u could watch "the world's alittle blurry" documentary about how Billie at 13 and fineas got their start and it shows how the produced/made their first album in fineas bedroom. And it shows her world to becoming famous and the things she's gone threw along the way. It's long but it's amazing and u will get to learn more about this duo!!!! ❤❤❤

“Ocean eyes” was actually finneas’s song. He had made it with his band. But he said his vocals didn’t sound right on it. So he had Billie sing it instead. They uploaded it to SoundCloud and it was like a snowball that kept picking up speed and getting bigger and bigger. It’s the song that made them. Both Finneas and Billie.

pretty sure both are true!! her dance teacher knew they wrote songs and asked them to write one for a dance. ocean eyes was originally finneas’s but he thought billie’s voice would fit better so ig billie tried it out and they decided to post it on soundcloud and use that song for the dance. and that’s when it just started blowing up!

@@emmischneider2739 they always told it since the begging… this is the long and real story about the song .. and that's also true, that's why he decided to give her that song for her dance class but they made the production together... he had only written the lyrics for his band. Not the production . He saw she was better vocally with that song + her dance teacher asked her to make a song and so he gave the song only the lyrics to her. The rest they made it together specifically for the contemporary dance they said: it needed to be perfect for that type of dance and they were lucky ppl liked it bc it wasn’t their purpose 😅bc the production was made for that dance and coreo .. and they also said that since then they have always used this mentality when recording and producing the songs, because they have to be perfect for Billie when she performs during her shows .. Also Aurora (the singer) said something about it in the past interviews bc they explained this story many times. And Billie also thanked her during an award (not popular) show where they were awarding her and Billie made a video for her ..congratulating her on having won the award and thanking her for being her biggest inspiration who made her understand that she wanted to make music and music videos thanks to Runaway.

About "Watch" and "&Burn" (like in "watch and learn"): Billie and Finneas couldn't decide which version auf "Watch" was better, Finneas liked the original version while Bille prefered the version with V.S. So at the end both versions ended up on the EP.

I totally agree with you. BiFi are a once in a generation talent. This EP is as good as any of her later songs. Very excited and curious about her next album. Some snippets I've heard sound interesting, but some sound like Billie Disco. I think it will be more like 'Happier Than Ever'. Looking forward to your next Billie reactions..

You should check out Finneas albums. One of my favorites is only a lifetime.

I think that it’s a combination of things. They have parents who are in the performing arts ( They met while doing a play in 1984 and married 11 years later) . When they had Finneas ( 1997) they put their acting on the back burner. Maggie taught at The Groundlings and was one of Melissa McCarthy’s teachers there and Patrick worked as a carpenter and did a bit of “ day “ acting. They have instruments in their house ( a 2 BR but they slept on the pullout couch so their kids could have their own bedrooms) and they played them and taught both of them how to play piano, ukulele, guitar. They were also home schooled and their parents nurtured their artistic talents and passion. They’ve said that they never had a bedtime as long as they were creating something.

Her new album drops next month! 10 tracks. The album is called “hit me hard and soft.” I’ve heard some snippets of some songs. I’m gonna say that there’s a track on there that’s like EDM. More growth! Pre-save it! Not sure if you know, but Billie recently came out. Said she’s bisexual. I feel like she’s been feeling pretty free recently…and happy! I think she even has a girlfriend, but don’t quote me on that. One of the songs on her new album is called “lunch”…and I won’t go into details on the lyrics. I’ll just say its about another girl she’s diggin 😆 But she recently was at Coachella and performed with Lana Del Rey. Two songs. “Ocean eyes” and lana’s song “video games.” She also recently said she had the time of her life at Coachella. And she posted that “life is beautiful.” I’m so incredibly happy that she’s feeling so happy and free. It’s awesome! Ps: I feel like this album is going to be just as good as the others. Possibly better.
