The solution to that POW puzzle is that when activated, the POW block sends out a radial shockwave that moves across the screen really quicly, *but* *not* *instantly,* so you can abuse this by letting the shockwave reach just the munchers and the first set of coins, but not the one under the door on the right.

Man, ryu, I've been watching you for almost 2 years now. I found you by chance at around episode 10 of 11 of super expert no skip series. It's like i work all day, get stressed out throughout the day and I destress by watching your new videos just before I go to bed. I don't even have a switch, or mario but I love watching you dissect these crazy levels. I do agree with you about these newer Rom hacks coming out. It seems that the player experience and fun are out the window and the creators are just happy with cooking up new trolls and then put the game out. They spend so much energy on trolling the player that it's not even fun and the player experience severely suffers. I hope they listen to you and start making some good ol' fashion new Mario content! Carl explained those pow mechanics in one of his WR for a puzzle on his KZbin. Apparently the POWs send a wave, and the wave destroys everything it touches, but if you enter (or reset) a room fast enough before the wave touches something, next time, whatever the wave didn’t touch, won’t be destroyed lol.

8:02 this happens because the POW effect acts as a "shockwave" (?) that progresses from where it exploded, to the borders of the screen. So when you enter in the door at the right moment, it'll only make drop the coin that are closer to that POW explosion. But I'm sure a lot of people said it in the comments already, and in a less broken english ahaha Carl had this same scenario in a level he played a while ago :)

Here's what happened in the first part of the second level. When a POW is hit, it doesn't destroy everything at once, but unleashes a shockwave. So when you entered the door on your successful attempt, the POW wave destroyed the column of coins, but left the coin you needed to enter the P door untouched. And people say watching Carl play puzzle level doesn't teach you anything new!

In the puzzle room the reason why it works is because pals affect things in a wave therefore if you time it right it'll hit the coins that are closer to you before it hits the coins that are farther away because the wave did not reach the last coin. I'm actually kind of surprised that I figured out that puzzle before you considering I don't even play Mario maker and I usually don't play Mario Maker games what I've learned about Mario maker is based off of watching KZbin vids of you, Carl , poo bear, and DGR

There wasn't a softlock in that puzzle room, Ryu; I think the intended solution was to place the spring + POW on the left so you can enter the top-left door. Then you'd end up where the shelmet is. Grab it and come back and do the rest as you did to finish it. But, granted, since it is *possible* to soft-lock yourself that level wasn't worth the star. Part from that it was a pretty good puzzle, imo. That hidden block below the checkpoint is unnecesary.

8:00 pow has kind of like a wave that destroys the coins closer to it first, and the coins most furthest the last, it doesn't work on enemies though, all enemies get destroyed immediately no matter how far away they're from the pow, the wave only works with coins (that are on screen)

POWs have a shockwave effect. So coins that are closer will fall soonrt compared to farthet coins. If you take a good look, you can even see the shockwave. The key is to enter the door after the first column of coins drop, but before the last coin.

I don't if you did understand that Puzzle level. (by the way, the second part WASN'T a softlock... You could use Spring and POW Block to enter the left-top corner door.) When the POW goes down, it release a shockwave. The shockwave has travel time, that means everything closer will happens first than far away things. The solution is to hit the POW Block and get inside the door fast enought to the shockwave effect the collum of coins, but not fast enought to the shockwave effect the P Door coin. Basically you need to get inside the door in the right time. Too fast and both group of coins will stay there, too slow both group of coins will be released from the air.
