Honestly this is the best job interview 'tutorial' that I've seen... Germany or otherwise.
@PiratePawsLive4 жыл бұрын
Great tips, I also learned by experience that taking a notepad/papers with questions and your actual CV/resume with you into the interview and put them down on the table so the interviewers can see you are prepared. I got flustered a few times when I was asked questions referencing my CV and could not remember the detail they wanted to know. If you have no questions on there, take the writing utensils regardless and take notes from time to time. I had 3 rounds of interviews for the same company with different people and they did ask me questions about things we talked about in the last interview. And I noticed Software Developer interviews tend to be more relaxed. And always remember you are interviewing the company too, you can always decline the job and walk away. There are also companies paying way less than a Person with your education, experience and skillset should earn in the average, or put things in the contract nobody told u about or plainly lying to your face about it. Do not allow yourself to get screwed over, always read the contracts you are signing.

In India, If you clear technical interview, you are mostly selected. Managerial is just for the sake of getting to know you and basic questions posed to you. Here, in Germany, even if you clear technical, and you get invited for the managerial, it doesn't guarantee you a job. Preparation is the key and getting to know this process is more imp.

Thanks for pointing this out. People skills are just as important (or even more important) than the technical skills.

I am lucky to find this video with great info, thanks Valentin. So, I have a question: I got an upfront task / exercise from a company, I completed it and sent it back. It has been around 2 weeks but I haven't gotten any feedback-reply yet. You mentioned that german companies tend to take their time when is about the first contact after applying, how about when is about revieweing a completed upfront exercise, any insights? Thanks in advance!

You are welcome. At the beginning i made mistake that non-systematically start to describe my background. Also, for the question "why do you select our company?" my answers were: "because it is in the same city where i am living and it is near to my house ...". Without preparing, it is difficult to explain systematically. I had interview for the position - python developer. :-)
