2:37:50 For what it's worth: you can't change the target of Throw from the Saddle because Return the Favor specifies a spell or ability with *one* target, and Throw has two. However, you could have copied the Throw and had your copy punch their Mobile Homestead so their Throw didn't do any damage. This was a great run, so sorry for the result!
@esaron885 ай бұрын
@@OneEyed_Jack It does. "Change the target of target spell or ability with a single target." The main point about copying instead to cause the original spell to fizzle is exactly what I was thinking, too.

I haven't watched the whole video yet (and I know going into it you did well) but I do think playing fell the mighty main alongside insatiable avarice was correct. Neither card is great, but they're at least impactful cards capable of getting 3 for 1's (or more). So rather than siding it in, I would main it and side it out when it's bad. It's even a combo with overzealous muscle assuming you target one of the opponent's creatures, right? I wonder if that comes up later...

44:50 You went Wolverine into Kraum to "get value from the wolverine" but you miss out on getting value with Kraum, so I don't think that makes any sense. The net result is a worse board, you would have drawn the land either way. I guess you could draw a different card to play that turn, but getting a 3/4 flier into play seems really nice on board and it's going to be the same amount of value in most instances, and less value in instances where you flip something you can't play, so I'm pretty sure it's considerably worse than just doing the other order.

I have only ever played sealed in prerelease events and out of all the tournaments I have ever played in over the course of 20 something years, there was only one that the sealed deck construction was easy. Placed 3rd and would have advanced to the next round but passed when I should have attacked. Just put in all the white and black cards and a mana rock. Orzhov creatures and bam. Easy peasy. Just once in 20 something years. Sucks.

In that last game, if you had waited on the return the favor instead of the charger, you wouldn't have had a chance to win drawing the smash, the board would've been stalled and you'd have more life at the turn bonnie gets to the board. You had to win before she got played anyways. Great play with a mediocre pool.

I was 6-2 into the final boss with a shit pool! NO REMOVAL! JUST VALUE PLAYS! Somehow won the 2nd game into the final game of the final boss but OPs deck was 10x better than mine. Full of Bombs and Good Removal and fixing. Maybe on the play i coulda pulled it out but I did wonders with what I had. Congrats to My Opponent Sperling
@OneEyed_Jack5 ай бұрын
You could have used the second mode on Return the Favor to put a copy on the stack of one of your creatures punching the Homestead, so it wouldn't be around to resolve original Throw. But you'd only have 2 2/3s on board, so they'd probably not play removal, and even if they did, they would have to be extremely aggressive to give you an opening against their larger board before Bonny came down and sealed it. Holding up Return was probably the better play in case there was removal that _could_ be redirected at the Brawler, but it's unlikely it would have mattered in the long run. A bit of a soft punt, since Charger isn't relevant to the board if Brawler sticks.
