"Sometimes your Salary gives you access to things you cannot afford" is so well said. The sooner we learn that Ability doesn't mean Affordability, the sooner we will be able to avoid these endless debt traps.

You know this came at the right time for me …I am so happy and emotional at the same time ..I moved into an apartment sharing one ..you have your own room and etc and in a safe environment and I wanted to create better quality KZbin videos for my channel BUT I only stayed in this apartment for three months and decided that this month I’m moving into a back room because after paying for everything I’m left with nothing in my bank account ..I can’t even SAVE and when I was telling people that I was stressed they thought I’m overreacting..But I’m so happy for this video woow 🥺🙏😌

Saving gives us a sense of security but the truth is that there is no return on savings that will match the interest rate that is being charged on debt so although it feels good, its actually 2 steps forward and 5 steps back. Thank you for a very necessary conversation guys!

I do agree with Bhuti Zola. Mpoomy Ledwaba once said that if you have to buy an item on credit, it means you cannot afford it, it's better to buy things cash.

Thank you so much guys for this, I have taken your tips. We turn to fall into a trap that because we have excess to credit we should max it. From now on I will live the life I can afford not what I can access and store accounts, contracts and loans got me stucked and I don't want to see myself in that position anymore

Thanks you for opening our eyes about finances. Buying second hand houses and cars is a good way to get our of debts I chose a house that was repossessed and made improvements now I'm paying way less bond than what currently people are paying for the same size of a house in the area. I also agree grow slowly you will really be proud what you have achieved I decided to save up for furniture and doing things to the house like using bonuses and also to avoid buying things on credit yes sometimes emergencies come but I would always make sure I settle even before the payment period. What I would advise as well when you have a high credit limit or pre approved loan offers avoid avoid the temptation to use them I have seen alot of people that I knew made alot of money struggling to even have money for work because of the repayments taking everything from the account the stress is just not worth it. Staying in a room for the first few years when I started working using public transport even though I could buy a car help me to save and at the time helped build a house for my mother

I was focusing on debt repayment but looking at the economy I am more aggressive on savings compared to debt repayment. I chose to change my strategy because you can negotiate your debts will lenders should anything happen to your income but if you don’t have savings you are in a crisis coz you can never get emergency savings if anything happens to your income. My debts are all in good standing, any extra cash goes to my savings.

A credit card system is really a trap. If you travel around Africa. If you see someone driving a BMW or living in a mansion it's been bought and built by hard cash. Credit is not readily available in most countries. Yes there is graft in most countries so some have endless cash. But credit on credit is a bad lifestyle esp in SA. Enkosi for the tips.
