I like the implied worldbuilding here, subtle. In five minutes, you learn John Doe has been doing this for a while, the world ended but people still keep going, "milkman" couriers have milk-based stickers to tell them apart, everyone has CDs for music because no radio stations (or no good stations), and while vital parts of infrastructure through their deliveries, they are usually not welcome in the walled cities.

This is actually a sweet/sick opening to series based off a video game- from John telling how the whole world fell apart because of a bug, how society crumbled with people goin' nuts and the criminals of the world takin' over the streets. To where in current time walls around cities were built to protect what remained of civilization while the baddies were thrown out to have what was left-- about Insiders and Outsiders of the cities and people who drive inbetween. Up to where John explains how the cars and guns come into the game. Not to mention how he drives around an abandoned mall to fight off some scavangers who want to steal from him and how he handels it like the boss he is, is SICK. You can't get anymore metal than that folks!! >:)

I've watched the show a few times, a point that's easy to miss that i only just picked up on is they weren't trying to hit him with those missiles, they want his cargo not to blow up the cargo, they were trying to impede his path and kill him to get him out of the way without damaging the cargo which makes sense. It makes sense the cargo is dog food. Because none of this is really happening and is a figment of SweetTooth's imagination. He has won the first twisted metal tournament which is why he has Harold his bag, and he won the 2nd tournament and got his wish to "be a bug" in the context of the first line of the show "some bug wiped out all the computers." only in sweet tooths demented mind would dog food be precious enough for people to kill each other over

It doesn't wink and nod at you the whole time and say "heh, isn't this stupid?" It presents you with an incredibly silly world, but it commits to the bit. It isn't ashamed of how absurd it is.

Now that I find out that there is a Twisted Metal series, I'm going to give my honest opinion. I didn't expect the series to be an action comedy; I would have preferred the plot to be dark with the story and development centered on one character in each season with its ending at the season finale, in the middle of the interaction with the other characters, that is, the vehicular combats and so on. That would have been better and more faithful to the video game than this series, but it is what it is and all that remains is to try to enjoy it.

i actually didnt really mind the plot. also found john doe, sweet tooth, mike and stu really likable and fun to watch. what i didnt like was quiet. that bitch was annoying as fuck and john should've let her die back in the casino like she did to him. sweet tooth probably would've taken the keys right out away from her and given it to john. also i dont understand how john doe is one of the best milkmen there is yet he cant even beat up the preacher and constanly makes rookie mistakes (drinking spiked drinks twice, talking openly about his job, consuming liqour while undercover, losing his car, trusting a person that literally tried to murder him 3 seconds before, getting swallowed by 4 trucks..... how do you even put yourself in that predicament??) john does a retard and doesnt really look like the badass he was said to be on the first few minutes of the show. i have the last episode left to watch and the only cool thing i remember is him killing people in the first few seconds of the show
