I used to love this game. I started playing the year it came out and really grew with and grew up with the game. Played all the DLCs up to a certain point, joined many notable leagues, made it past round 10 on 2 survival modes, had almost every feat completed at one point for max skill points. Truly truly loved the game and wish the devs had never changed and that more care was given to the game. If it had a full graphics overhaul and was placed into the right hands it could’ve been one of the best MMORPGs ever. We need more create your own hero modern ones.

Origin Crisis all the way to Halls of Power pt 2 were its golden years, lots of amazing content & episodes, amazing power additions (I fucking love quantum), amazing gear & styles & auras. Just fucking loved it. Greedy and shitty developers ruined it with micro transactions, shitty episodes & carelessly made content, and too many unsuccessful combat overhauls after a certain time.

Ahhh nostalgia, you sweet old friend you. I used to play this game religiously till it just got too pay to win and no PVP updates (SMILEB4DEATH & ORBIT, those who know will understand these legends). I do miss it but not enough to come back. I played it then as a teen and I have some other games I like now (God of War 4 and 5 etc) so it served its time. Enjoy it in all for it is a good game, and thanks for the nostalgia trip.

I was one of the beta testers for the game so I have been playing it prior to its public release in 2011. I had quite a few fun years building up different characters, one in particular. My kids still enjoy it, but to be honest it has lost some of its luster for me. I think they still do a great job with it, but where we are at right now, it feels like we need a new DC MMO. Not just with updated graphics, but updated features, stories, plots, and mechanics. I wish they would create a DCUO II or a different MMO altogether. I just get so bored when I jump in these days. I like changing out my styles for a bit, then getting off the game.

I can still remember the last night of Beta. Everyone playing a villain was trying like hell to take down Superman or Batman. Even with huge numbers they failed and complained to the devs online. Hilarious. Haven't played in years. Glad people are still having fun with it.

Every time I stop playing DCUO I forget how floaty the combat is, think it looks fun months later, jump back in, complete a few more quests, and then bail again. Literal main complaint every time, I feel like I'm swimming around and gently smacking enemies.

If you're planning to get back into dcuo, I'd say Electricity isn't it for dps. Amazing healer, for sure, but its dps is kind of lackluster. Rage and Water are dps monsters. Rage is powerful and crazy right out the gate. And with water, depending on how you run your loadout and rotation, there's nothing that will out dps you save for someone significantly higher in cr.

@@anixoni I like this gameplay better. point and click combat was never really my thing. CoH does a ton of things better but 1st thing is the gameplay loop, and DCUO wins for me easily. This game suffers from everyone wanting it to basically be CoH, but with DC characters. I remember how much shit it got for basically not being that when it launched. I played CoH AFTER I played this, so my view on the game wasn't influenced.

I always liked this game more, even though I would've rather played with marvel characters. DCUO lets you customize your costumes and make your own characters or how you want them to look, theres a class and role based system that adds depth the endgame activities, and the transversal in the open world was cool AF compared to the iso metric (Diablo but with heroes) approach of Marvel heroes. The only problem was that you couldn't play as the DCU characters, and people wantd to do that. I still liked both, but this was an easy winner for me. I was highly disappointed when the marvel games being worked on by this team was cancelled. I cant imagine what a 2024 Marvel game like this would look like. But, I bet it would make billions

Been playing this game for 13 years on and off :) The devs messed up the PVP it was one of the BEST THINGS ON PC! We used to have these heroes vs villains open world wars all the time, but the devs started focusing on PvE content and the PVP community died off.

Fun fact: they did that on purpose to funnel people into PVE content because PVE is easier to monetize. They literally had a live stream where they said they didn't know how to monetize PVP so they dropped it and broke it.
