Zach I hope you still have this rifle that your father built. Thats a once in a lifetime opportunity. And what sentimental value.

One standard product? Very interesting, considering their resources at the time. And look where they are today? Still in business. Just like Armalite and Colt, making something is one thing, but mass producing the same thing (to exceptional standards) is a different skill to master. Good on them!

Very nice video. Those machining centers certainly put a lot of classically trained machinists, tool & die makers, tool makers, etc out of business. There is a video called "Colonial Gunsmith" on KZbin, about an hour long narrated by David Brinkley, a re-enactment of a Colonial Williamsburg gun maker making a flint-lock rifle. Very good video which shows how it was done once upon a time.

My nephew works for them and I'm going to have him personally oversee the making of my next rifle or pistol. Can't wait.
