Why did all the rust come back? Do you drive it in the winter aswell?

I didn't clean up and paint this, this is the rear axle. And yes I drive all winter in snow and also on the beach around the saltwater. Lots of salt on the road here. Front axle looks pretty good except the cheap chrome diff cover isn't that great. Think I'm going to just powdercoat a steel different cover this time. Actually this video was before any painting I think
