I'm poking programing for older machines. Have recently started learning Basic for the TRS-80. It's a bit fun trying to make things for the small communities surrounding older tech. I've become curious about the PC-88 and PC-98 in Japan, it seems both are coded also using Basic. I don't know an ounce of Japanese, but I do quite like the aesthetic and design of many of the titles from that time.

Uau. I have no idea what this is, but it sounds interesting…

@@perfectbase Ah, the TRS-80 is a Color Computer. The 1986 one was the most advanced. That said, the PC-88 and PC-98 were far more graphically powerful than our tech. Were the games developed for these computers, such as Popful Mail, Brandish, etc, done in C coding? I'm unclear on how they got their graphics and cut scenes into their games.

Ravi, I'm Brazilian engineer too and I am looking to learn more software skills to go work in Japan. Do you have a tip for me? I am already studying nihongo and I'm quite good in english.

Nice video! By the way, do Japans numbers look the same as English numbers? For example if I have a calculator with the numbers 0-9, will someone from Japan be able to use the calculator? Or do 0-9 look completely different?

Thanks for watching! They do have kanjis for numbers: 1:一/2:ニ/3:三/4:四/5:語 But in general they use the English numbers more than kanji numbers, so yes, they would be able to use the calculator.
