If One holds a belief such as "I'm going to manifest this person/be with this person, and I'm going to work on myself to be worthy of them/make a version of me that they deserve" is that counterproductive ? Is it the same as manifesting a lack? (And thereby not achieving the purpose?)

What I would personally do in framing these beliefs is change the "why" and the place you are coming from. Manifesting the person you want is completely fine, but make sure you don't work on yourself for THEM, but for YOU. This helped me so much because by holding the belief that I needed to become worthy of them or their love, I already affirmed to myself that I was not worthy as I am right now...that I needed to chase that worthiness. You are already complete and worthy of the love, freedom, joy etc. that you desire. It is definitely a good thing to intend on becoming a dream version of yourself, but do it for yourself and your happiness first and foremost. By doing it for you, you gain self-love and confidence, and it also allow you to not be as attached to your manifestation (making it come to you more easily). Also it may help to affirm the belief in present tense instead of "I am going to manifest this person" it could be "I am so loved and fulfilled now that I am in an amazing relationship with this person" or something along those lines. Hope this helps!

From my understanding it essentially is the same principal as using visualization or imagining int he LoA. You're choosing your desired reality and making it feel as real as possible to the point where you feel or truly believe you have shifted into that desired reality. Which is also like in LoA how you want to stay in the emotion of your desired manifestation to attract it

of course:) anything can be manifested. the problem comes in when we depend on this goal to change the way we feel. In other words if you just want to be a billionaire because you don't like the way you feel now and think it will fix things, it won't last even if you attract it. If you change your internal state now to match that of a billionaire, and you continue to grow in your life and love your life you can certainly do it!

There’s thousands of actors who aren’t successful, it doesn’t guarantee you’ll end up meeting a famous actor and marrying them.
